Lots of lighthearted reads and bright colors 🌈💖
Went to the library's summer reading event today and snagged an awesome mystery bag of books. Couldn't pass up The Way to Fairyland theme (peak into parallel worlds with five novels for adults)!
Here is 1 of the 5 prize hauls that will be given away for the Summer Reading Festival ($100 value)! If you‘re reading books this summer any way, this is a fun way to earn entries into an epic bookish giveaway! I have a link in my profile if you wanna check out all the prizes & details to join. I‘m hosting this w/ some bookish besties! Simply read books, match them to a prompt, & submit your review to be entered! 💯ticket sales go to prizes
Any 📕 finished from June 1-Aug 31 counts. Only requirements are the book be a middle grade reading level or above. We have 75 prompts to choose from. Most are NOT genre specific so this challenge fits all readers 🥰
Prizes include: 3 months BOTM, preorder of choice, book ends, out of print socks & zipper pouch, Wicked Whimsy giftcard, personalized library stamp, book pillow, book stand, AND more! 👀 the link in my profile for the full list!
Pre-sale tickets are now available for the Summer Reading Festival. May 30th we will email out the prompt list & invite everyone to the discord where entries are logged

Drop any questions & I‘m happy to do an AMA here 😊 #bookevent #summerreading
I love that my school library is doing a staff only summer reading challenge!!! ☀️🤓☀️
We live in Western Washington where the wildfires are impacting the air quality (smoke and ash), so we went to the library to turn in our summer reading logs! Both kids got to pick out a free book and bookmark. Josie picked a Magic Treehouse book and a popcorn scented bookmark. Theo picked out The Gruffalo and chose a pickle scented bookmark. 😂😂 Yay for libraries!!!
As a librarian, I am dismayed that our county public library system isn‘t doing summer reading. However, we decided at our branch to put together a summer reading program with the supplies on hand and online printable items. Yesterday, this is the door that I made off the circulation desk.
Here‘s my #bookspinbingo list for June! Some observations: why did I jam all the book titles so close together? Why did I write out “Book of the Month” once and abbreviate it to “BOTM” three times? Why do I keep buying books that I‘m inevitably going to get in audiobook from the library! Answer to all of these questions: who knows 🤦🏼♀️!
Every year I make a list of books for my best friend to read for the summer!
I earned these badges for Wake County Public Library summer reading program, Tales and Tails.
Another badge earned in Durham County Public Library‘s summer reading program.
Well, I‘ve read 11/14 of my #14Books14Weeks2021 stack! The Children of the New Forest got backburnered last month, I need to replace my copy of The House of the Seven Gables with something with readable print, and Party of Two is coming up shortly. So I may need to swap House for another title but otherwise I‘m going strong!
So very excited to be able to pick up the summer reading club welcome kit for both of our kiddos at the library. Each week we can pick up a bundle (or two) of books for each kid to take home. They collect coins with each bundle of books read which they will get to spend at the library at the end of the summer. Couldn't be more excited as I see a glimmer of hope in a return to normalcy for the kids!

We started our family reading challenge. 🥳🥳 It included bookish gift baskets (books, snacks, reading lights, and bookmarks), prizes for every 200 minutes read (also Lexia minutes, in F‘s case), and a poster where each family member will have their own color to record their titles read.
It goes without saying that I‘m the most excited about it. 🤣
Anyone participating in a library summer reading challenge?
I love that my library has teamed up with the county Open Spaces program to promote both reading and outdoor activity - you can earn points both for reading and for other activities, like walking in a park or looking for constellations. They've also added a community incentive; for every million points the community completes, the library will donate a sum to a food bank!

It is that time that I do my best friends annual summer reading list!! Here is to sunny days spent reading outside!! 🤓🤓
Since summer is officially over, here‘s how far I got on the Modern Mrs Darcy Summer Reading Guide. 18 read (some I‘d read before the summer). I‘m still going to finish more of these! I‘m reading The Vanishing Half for book club next month.
I‘ve earned 15 points and “completed” summer reading. Instead of prize drawings this year, Friends of the Library will donate to a local charity.

OK, I think for my #JoysOfJune readathon I‘ll finish my current read (which is my #bookspin), read my #doublespin and knock out two ARCs patiently waiting in the wings.
For a slow reader, I think that‘s a pretty ambitious goal. 😊
Thanks @Andrew65 for getting me motivated! 😊👍💕
OK, I NEVER do readathons, so for my very first one I‘m jumping in for my buddy @Andrew65 ‘s #JoysOfJune 9-day wonder!! 🎉🎉🎉
Come join the fun and SET YOUR OWN GOALS...books read, authors read, pages read, series read...anything goes!! 😊 Whittle down that TBR!
Begins Saturday, June 13 running thru Sunday, June 21!
REPOSTED for @Andrew65
Prepping my summer reading books - doing three summer reading challenges: #summerfun #30booksin3months and my library‘s summer reading program. 🌞📚📖 Are you doing any summer reading challenges?
1. I will be perusing the library‘s summer reading list to see what I can add to my list. More on that later.
2. I try to have a water bottle filled and handy at all times. I‘m also happy to drink something while reading.

For once, I‘ve already read some of these from the Modern Mrs. Darcy summer reading list. I‘m checking them off so I feel like I‘m ahead. #MMD #SummerReading
We did a thing and put together a #bookofthemonth Summer Reading Guide (this is Part I of II)!
Share it with your friends, subscribe and welcome Emily Johnston back to the blog because let's face it, we all missed her! ❤️
Stay tune for Part II tomorrow (or Monday) depending on our schedules.

Back for The 3rd year, my book a week challenge. This year there are 15 weeks between memorial day & labor day so this year's challenge will be 15 books in 15 weeks. Who's in with me this year? These are the 15 I chose off my TBR stack. I only chose books off my actual stack, not my Kindle because I like the visual representation & these take up a lot more room than the hundreds waiting to be read in my Kindle lol 😂 use the #15Books15weeks &share
Every spring I make a summer reading list for my best friend... here is this years!!
I won one of the prizes for the adult summer reading program at my library! This is what I picked and I love it! 😍📚💕 #librarylove
#mmd summer reading guide 2019 ❤ going to have to try afew of these 📚

Does anyone participate in a summer reading program through their library? I do, it always encourages me to push myself to read a little more. There are prizes, though I‘ve never won. Maybe this year?
My reader on the last day of fourth grade. We made some summer reading goals such as if he reads 20 minutes for 40 days of summer vacation he'll get a prize up to $25! (Basically took the library reading challenge and added a good prize lol! And we are also doing the Barnes and nobles summer reading challenge where you read 8 books and get a free one! What's everyone else's summer reading plans? #raisingreaders #summerreading
Hey all! Since it is officially Summer, I want to know what is your favorite Summertime read? It can be a book that reminds you of Summer, a book you read in the Summer, or has Summer in the title.

Both my daughter and I finished our library summer reading program and received these goodies. She's so excited that her medal glows in the dark! We also each received a $5 card for fine forgiveness or library bookstore credit.
Yay - photos are back! Here is a close-up of my awesome new books from the amazing @Chrissyreadit - I‘m so excited to get started on these. Thank you again, Chrissy! Another giant thank you to our wonderful organizer, @BookishMarginalia - all your hard work is very much appreciated! #summersantagoespostal #summersolsticebookexchange #fightevilreadbooks
