Took me long enough to finish it. But i really did enjoy it.
Took me long enough to finish it. But i really did enjoy it.
Enjoying the sun with my kiddos and nephew. Its supposed to be 80 this weekend, which is not normal for where i am. Lol but we will take it!
I liked it. Especially Ciri‘s parts. But I have issues with the structure of these books, Main Characters on the sidelines that disappear halfway through the book? Dialogue that has paragraph breaks at inappropriate times so you can‘t tell who is talking? Cliffhangers? Come on.
The action made up for my struggle, & I have the next book so I guess I‘ll survive a cliffhanger ending.
Watching my nephew plus my little one. Reading while it's somewhat sunny and not too cold. They need to burn some energy before a hopeful nap.
Love the Witcher series. Funny and entertaining.

Probably among my favorites in the series so far. I‘m so excited to keep reading!!
This entry in The Witcher series ups the ante in every way. More action, more romance, more spectacle, more twists and turns. I loved it. Yen/Geralt/Ciri and their relationship remain my favorite aspect of the series.
This was an exciting one. There wasn‘t as much politics as in previous books in the series. There was a gathering of sorcerers and enchantresses, which was interesting, and we get to hear a lot more from Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri each. We also hear directly from the Nilfgaardian emperor. My complaint is that there were too many references to rape and derogatory terms to women. It‘s completely unnecessary and pulls me out of the story.
“And if someone has friends, and he loses everything in spite of that, it‘s obvious the friends are to blame. For what they did, or for what they didn‘t do.”

I continue to be baffled by the structure of the Witcher novels. This one builds up to a huge conflagration right in the middle, then introduces a bunch of new characters right at the end. Although the pacing is odd, the story is enjoyable.
Sapkowski reeeeeeealllly loves to bring up the title in this one.
Got the audiobook of the next Witcher book. Sapkowski loves to drop in on random people, such as royal messengers, and tell part of the story from their perspective.
One of the better books in the series so far. I am actually starting to enjoy it more, although Ciri kind of drives me nuts at times.
⭐⭐⭐
My least favorite of the Witcher books so far. It was ok but forgettable.

"But you should act, be brave, seize life by the scruff of the neck. Believe me, little one, you should only regret inactivity, indeciveness, hesitation. You shouldn't regret actions or decisions, even if they occasionally end in sadness and regret." From Time of Contempt by Andrzej Sapkowski.
Tomorrow's the day! The Witcher season 2 will be released! ???? #behindthepages #fantasy
Even though I'm very slow in reading this series, I still highly enjoy them. I love the atmosphere in the stories, and of course Geralt as a silent and sturdy hero. This volume is very political, and I admit I couldn't follow everything that was happening. But I take is as Geralt does - I keep aside, but with a watchful eye on what's going on. Maybe now I'll continue the series a bit faster, but I don't think Geralt really cares. Every book has ⬇
I don't want to disturb the kitten no matter how hard I want to read the book. My precious kitty 🐈

I didn't expect for this series to take me so long... but here we are, officially at book two in the series!
I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 125.

Zoned out in a couple places, just because there are pockets of army tactics being discussed and 'political intrigue' and they just don't stick when I'm reading, but the rest is incredible as always, and a growing list of characters that help me tie in events to the games.
Finished this one in the bath earlier and it was great. It really added a lot of backstory that I hadn‘t really got from the Netflix series or the games.
About to use this bad boy as it‘s practically Christmas already 🎄🌟☃️❄️🛀 🧼 💣 Last 30 pages of tagged book, which I‘ve been reading for a long time now, alongside several others.
Turns out The Witcher series is wonderfull for listening to while working. Made it through in two days while also beeing rather productive, yay! Interesting to see the main plot develop finally. Still a nice balance between conventional fantasy tropes and fresh perspectives, though there was a rather questionable consent situation in the end. Can‘t wait for book five! Also: yes, Bear with me, i just need bathtub-Cavill right now!
Why must cats always sit/lie on your things?! 😹😹😹
This might just be the coolest bath bomb I‘ve ever had! Look at that rainbow! So awesome! 🌈☁️ 🏳️🌈

This bomb from BeautyBathBombKits on Etsy is so good! I have lots of bombs in my stockpile, but had to use this one on Hallowe‘en!
On another note, I haven‘t been reading much lately, so I‘m still on this book in the Witcher series. It‘s awesome so far.
Etsy shop is here, for anyone who wants to try one of these awesome bombs: https://etsy.me/2HRBfGh
August was a slow month, and if it wasn‘t for graphic novels, I don‘t think I‘d have as high a number. Fave book is tagged. And my little Ciara on a play date and hiding in the garden 🤦♀️🤦♀️❤️
With the second full-length novel, the story really begins to pick up. We see where the conflict is heading and we get to see more fun characters (yay Dandelion) that we saw in the short stories. While there are the occasional monsters, so far his books are highly political tales! Loving them so far, but only have one complaint. With so many characters and nationalities, a glossary would be super helpful.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Next up! Also, I‘m absolutely loving these covers! #currentlyreading
This series provides an engaging story and characters I can‘t help but enjoy. Geralt has such a different relationship with each of his companions. I also enjoyed seeing them all together for the first time in this novel. Readers will not be disappointed as their storylines begin to come together for a remarkable journey. #fantasy

okay-kay-kay! it looks like Ciri is finally coming into her own. I'm excited for the next installment.
The adventure continues in this wild and twisty novel. It‘s a great sequel to Blood of Elves and gives us more story. It‘s well written and a fun story. Can‘t wait to see what happens next.
Really enjoyed this one 😊 This book really digs in to more of who Ciri is and focuses more on her character development while also giving us some Dandelion and Geralt moments. And also some more Yennefer, and she is truly fascinating. I really like her in the series on Netflix and in the book. I can‘t wait to read more 😊 And here‘s my reading buddy Gus 🐶 We are about to watch the Witcher series...again 😊
Got called into work and missed most of my reading day 😢 but fear not, a late start is still better than no start 😁
I‘m loving these so far. I‘ve read 3 now, including the Last Wish. They‘re so fun and I can‘t seem to stop!
4th book, 2nd novel in Witcher Series. Focus on question of neutrality in a time of war and the impact of violence and oppression on victims. Geralt investigates those tracking Ciri. Yennefer and Ciri go to island Thanedd for sorcerers conclave and all hell breaks loose. Thrilling battles, political intrigue and some interesting new characters. https://cannonballread.com/2020/03/the-time-of-contempt-the-witcher-book-2-elcic...
These books always take me a bit to get through but they are always captivating. So excited for the Netflix series on Friday! #TBRRead #wintergames #teamfozziwig
If you are thinking about this series before the Netflix show starts, I very much recommend the audio versions. The narrator is amazing! Great series so far
That‘s 4 down, 4 to go! On to the next one, post-haste! Great stuff. Expanded well on the world by diving headlong into the power struggles and intrigues surrounding the main characters.
And on to the next, without delay! I need to go find myself a new quitterstrip. I‘ve had this one for a little over 20 years. 😆
