Never watched the tv series. Is it any good? Or is the actor playing the Witcher just smokin‘ hot?
Comic was serviceable. Not the best antihero comic I‘ve ever read but if you like the show you‘ll surely like this too.
I shoulda been paying attention to who the publisher & artist is. Reminded me much of Mike Mignola Hellboy books.
8 years later....
I'm still just a captivated and enthralled as the first time.
I love the subtle sarcasm and humour, it doesn't fail to bring a smile to my face every time.
Going on an adventure with Geralt is quickly becoming one of my favourite escapisms.
Killing monsters, breaking curses, and sharing it all with some good friends.
My only complaint is that these stories is too short.
Really good, a shockingly quick read considering the length. Sapkowski (much like George up there) did not need to add so many POVs to get the story across, but when it was good it was great.
This mixed in a famous Arthurian legend, & I would be lying if I said I didn‘t have to do a little homework to make my own sense out of that ending as it is left to some interpretation.
Fitting conclusion to the saga
A lot of monsters get bloodily dispatched in a variety of ways, & there's slightly more of Geralt having baths than I personally thought was necessary (but others might have a greater penchant for those scenes than me 🛀).
While some of the monsters have tragic backstories, at the point Geralt meets them they are generally in his “deserve to die“ category, except in the Fox Children storyline, which is more nuanced.
There is some soul-searching ⬇️
Not really sure why this picture was used but good info 😊🙌🏽
