Mermaids these days seem to be ethereal or scary as hell. Fred's not really either. She's full of snark though, has an adorable best friend, two handsome suitors, and has to figure out why someone's poisoning Boston's waterways.

Ahh! I enjoyed this! Lots of giggles and the occasional snort (which is my usual reaction to MJD's snark filled stories). I've read this trilogy before but don't actually remember how it ends... (good thing I've got the next two books ready to read)

#augustofpages #augustphotochallenge #day28 #feelgoodbook These are my feel good books.I stumbled across MaryJanice Davidson years ago when I was given an audiobook of her Undead&Unwed series which are hilarious.I don't read many fluffy books,most are dark,twisted,crime & horror,but I like to pick these up and lift my spirits occasionally. Fred is a bad mermaid, she's not blonde, buxom & she's definitely not perky. Funny series, great for a laugh.

It's a book you read because it makes you feel happy. It's got issues, but I love MaryJanice Davidson and I get to cross a box off of my book-bingo.
