So charming. I honestly think there's enough wholesome silliness in here to make it an amusing moment for adult readers as well as those in the I Can Read age range. And who doesn't want to enjoy 1970s art of a dapper frog and toad gadding about?

This MF, Newbery Honor award-winning book is a fantastic read for primary grades for a RA. The book teaches students about friendship while also introducing different emotions to students. Through this they can see the emotions and how Frog and Toad take care of each other. This link opens to a lesson plan for a RA for students. https://www.teachervision.com/lesson/questioning-frog-and-toad-together #ucflae3414sp21

Adodd1 The UDL strategy that could be applied would be 8.3, the students can work together during the read aloud to answer comprehension questions. The EL strategy best fit would be 14, meaning I would read at a slower pace to help students comprehend the book better. 4y
Karissacurrier I absolutely love frog and toad! The UDL principle you chose would work great with a read aloud. 4y
Ericaj I love Frog and Toad Series. I read one of the books the other day to 1st graders, and the students loved it. I plan to teach younger students. I will keep the website saved for the future. Thank you. 4y
DrSpalding This is a sweet series of books that are appropriate for primary age students. They are transitional chapter books that can be read aloud or independently. 4y

Frog and Toad Together is a Newbery award-winning collection of 5 MF short stories by Arnold Lobel. These sweet stories are all about two best friends who can‘t imagine life without each other and the adventures that they have together. The book teaches young children concepts like loyalty, patience, bravery and self-control, all with a dash of humor! Check out https://www.icanread.com/printables/frog-toad-together-teachers-guide/
#ucflae3414su20

nquintus Frog and Toad Together would make for fantastic RT in an early elementary classroom. It coincides well with lessons on Social Emotional Learning, as it touches on 5 SEL categories. In an RT activity, this book meets UDL guidelines 9.2 regarding coping skills and strategies and 9.3 regarding self-assessment and regulation. It also meets ESOL strategy 16 by integrating speaking, listening, and reading. This book belongs in every K-2 classroom! 4y
DrSpalding These are classics! Readers theater would be a wonderful teaching strategy along with read aloud. They are humorous and do belong in primary classrooms. 4y

#BBRC #ER (Published Within Five Years) Pete has a great time when school gets closed for snow, but when the snow days pile up, he realizes he likes school even more than he thought. (Published Before 2000) Five stories about Frog and Toad‘s adventures. Toad is a bit gullible but Frog doesn‘t seem to mind, showing great patience. Nice stories about friendship that touch on themes of kindness, hard work, willpower, and bravery. @LibrarianRyan

Frog and Toad Together by Arnold Lobel is an illustrated F collection of short stories about two friends, Frog and Toad. This easy read is a Newbery Award winner that could make for a good GR or IR if students want to continue reading. These short, simple stories are all about Frog and Toad, and all of their adventures together. #UCFLAE3414F17

SarahWynne Frog and toad together https://www.teachervision.com/questioning-frog-toad-together This link provides question-answer relationships (QAR) strategy: “in the text” questions/ “in my head questions” allowing this to start out as a GR, then continue on as an IR. Strategies:
UDL: 8.4 Increase mastery-oriented feedback
ESOL: 7. Show students how to use graphic organizers like semantic mapping and imaging

This John Newbery award winning book is wonderful for a CR. This book is a fun F book for children to read. This book has a number of short stories throughout the book. The Frog and Toad Together is a cute story that will help students learn different lessons. The stories are cute and fun to read. The link https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/frog-and-toad-... will take you to different

amyqualk Activities that you can do with your class. I would use UDL 3.2 highlight critical features and ESOL 10 teach think, pair and share strategies in cooperative groups. These strategies will make the students pay more attention while they are reading the story. #UCFLAE3414F17 7y

This MF picture book would be a great GR for beginner readers. This Newbery Award winner contains 5 different Frog and Toad stories, each of which convey lessons along with friendship! Students could learn how to write lists, learn sequences, and enhance vocabulary!

MorganH www.scholastic.com/teachers/lesson-plans/teaching-content/frog-and-toad-together-extension-activities Although Frog and Toad is an animal fantasy, this extension activity provides a nonfiction lesson on the difference between frogs and toads, using charts and partners! EL 14 works well with this book, since it provides simplified language, and could be read slowly and over several times. 7y
MorganH EL 9 would also work, since the first story has to do with a to-do list, and it could connect to a note-taking lesson! UDL 7.3 ‘Minimize threats and distractions‘ may be used for these beginner readers, as they may be tempted to lose focus when learning to read. A quiet reading area or reading with a partner or parent may be beneficial. #UCFLAE3414F17 7y

Just as I remember from childhood. Cookies and willpower. After giving cookies to birds, "now we have no more cookies..." "Yes but we have lots and lots of will power." Borrowed from library but will buy a copy to have at home. A classic.
