Floribelg I agree with Alexander we have all have bad days but turning those bad days into lessons are the best way to approach everyday. The lesson plan you included is great for a GR! 7y

This B styled book is the story of scientist Anna Comstock. People thought she was crazy but she prevailed and a lot of what she studied is still used in classrooms today! DrSpalding I have seen this book. Are you sure it's historical fiction? What is fictitious about it? 7y
emilykwilkins I believe that it is considered historical fiction because the characters in the book were real people and the subject matter was also true, but i think it would be considered fictitious because we don‘t really know if this conversation actually happened or not. 7y

In this SF book, 12 year old Ginnela and her younger brother find themselves trapped on a broken space ship and have to figure out how to survive. This book would be ideal in the classroom for IR or even LC. The author, Janet Asimov, would even make for an interesting AS. Based off the classic American Girl dolls, is a series of books that each character comes with! This particular one is a HF beginners chapter book that talks about keeping their Swedish traditions in the new country they call home. I think that this book would be perfect for IR. It not only shares different cultural views with your students but helps them to see what it might mean to keep traditions alive throughout time. #ucflae3414F17

“Frog and Toad are friends” is a great F read for the classroom. In this story we are taken through the friendship of the frog and the toad! This book is a great start to the individual reading level. This book also was a Caldecott medal runner up for its amazing illustrations. Some classroom strategies to use would be S, PR, and IR. #ucflae3414f17

Runny Babbit: A Billy Sook | Shel Silverstein

This P styled story is one from the classic Shel Silverstein. The Runny Babbit is also an award winner for the Quill Award for children‘s illustrated book. This book is great as a RA and LC to help our younger students to the concepts of poetry in a fun filled way!

DrSpalding I think there is a cutting and pasting issue here. Seems like the last two comments belong to a different book. As far as Runny Babbitt goes, this is an extremely difficult book to read aloud and requires a lot of practice. 7y

This F book takes you through the memories of a young 4yr old girl looking back on her life so far. This book perfectly projects the positive message of growing up and celebrating life no matter how young, or old! This book is ideal for RA and GR. There are some fun discussions that can be started and inspired from this read!
