This was a fun rhyming story! This was listed as a rebus in my library‘s catalog…I would not have called it that per se, but there were minimal images in the margins that went along with the rhyme. I absolutely loved reciting this story aloud (not sure what the cats thought - they‘re settling down for bed! 😂)

Not sure that this was #ER but it's not middle grade either I am putting it as an er.
I chose to read this as a choice for my second graders. This coming week we are reading about Helen Keller. Hopefully one of them enjoys this book as much as I did.

Tattooedteacher We use many of the books in the series for our third grade biography unit. I love these books. Also I recently read that lego is using Braille on the legos. 4y

I‘m 175 pgs into this book.... and I find I‘m still having the hardest time getting *into* it... it‘s not bad... it seems well *written*... but perhaps not really well-told? So far, I‘m sticking it out... but it‘s taking me so long I feel like I‘m just losing valuable reading time...

Maybe it‘s my focus? Anyone else try this one yet? (It‘s not yet published — so early reviewer/advanced reviewer copy..)

MicheleinPhilly That‘s unfortunate as I really LOVED 4y
Branwen Oh nooooo! 😟 I hope it picks up for you! This is one of my most anticipated October reads! 4y
Avanders @MicheleinPhilly @Branwen I‘ve heard such good things about the author! But honestly, I‘d take my response with a grain of salt... my reading is all over the place and very taxed this year 😳 I‘ll be sure to update on how I feel about it once I make some more progress... i‘m not even at that magical halfway point yet 😁😁 4y

MicheleinPhilly Oh I get it. My reading this year has been a MESS. Hope it picks up for you! 4y
MaleficentBookDragon I'm looking forward to this one. Stacked!
BTW, did you get the kindle cozy mystery I sent you?
4y
ferskner I just finished it and really enjoyed it! But it's definitely not light reading. I think if you have a lot on your mind, it might not be the best choice. 4y

For a very basic introduction to Australia, this isn‘t bad. Follow the day in the life of an Australian student, as she talks about her country and her daily activities, which are akin to many kids in Australia. Harder to pronounce words are spelled out phonetically, and the end of the book includes facts and stats about Australia. #BBRC #ER #NonFiction

This also marks my last book for the #ER category!

Based on a true story, this book follows the Muldie family as they settle on the American prairies in the 1800s. It‘s a wonderful introduction to prairie life, and I was very unfamiliar with the black community called Nicodemus. The last page details the true story of the Muldies. I liked this one! #BBRC #ER #BlackMainCharacterPublishedBefore2000ER

Bookzombie Nicodemus, Kansas is a black community in Justina Ireland‘s zombie series. I had no idea that it was an actual community. 4y

Who took the missing peanut butter treats? King and Kayla are on the case! Told from the perspective of King, readers can use deductive skills to help solve the case. Spoiler: it‘s a surprise! This is a fun mystery, and I bet the rest of this series are as enjoyable. #BBRC #ER #POCCharacterPublishedWithin5YearsER

Here‘s a fun book that has a mystery...and rainbows! Why are rainbows appearing on Annie‘s wall? Readers learn about prisms and how rainbows are created. The last page shows how readers can make their own rainbows. #BBRC #ER #IndigoGirls (because indigo is a color in a rainbow)
