I wish they hadn‘t changed this cover. I thought it stood out so well and was unique. And now it just blends in with all the books with similar covers.

This is what my daughter is getting for her Valentine.
I'm so excited I want to give it to her right now!! She's going to love it! 😍 Whew... I had to tell someone. 🤷♀️
This book was a step out for me and it turned out to be great. A charming and adorable story told by an author who can capture the imagination of a child and still entertain adults. For me it was a refreshing break from more adult reading and I am pretty sure I will give it as a gift to young relatives and take on further books in this series when I need a break. And the cover is just gorgeous. Magical. Who can say no to a cover like that?
Prayers appreciated: my 👀 have not adjusted to the new bifocal contacts in 12 days & have gotten worse since I got them- Now I have a couple migraines a day& even with reading glasses it's very painful to read, use my phone, or work on the computer. Being a librarian( tiny spine label searching and constant cataloging), this is intensely frustrating. April 10 is my next appointment and hopefully I can find a good audiobook to last me until then😭
I love this book and look forward to the second in the series. 9-12 year old me would have ranked this right up there with Inspector Gadget, and this would have added to my imaginary play where my notebook was really a hidden computer. I borrowed the book, but I'm feeling like I need to get my own copy. First, the cover art is fantastic, and the story is just wonderful. Like "The Billionaire's Curse" a great young reader adventure/intrigue story.
Ashlyn is not as excited as I am about this middle grade adventure. I also feel like I love this size format for a middle grade novel.
Got this for my Harry Potter loving daughter. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
Final verdict? It's good. The pacing slowed down in the second half a little so I was able to enjoy the whole of the story better. I like the Holmesian elements lightly woven throughout and it was a neat way to treat the history of London's Great Fire especially during its 350th anniversary. And while I don't think Jack appreciated it much this time, I have a feeling that he'll truly enjoy being a very special member of a very secret society.
Gorgeous cover. Awesome premise. Only midway through and am wondering if the characters are rushing about too much. I get that they're under a deadline but I feel like I'm missing things. Also, I would've gotten pissed at the Clerk much earlier for not answering any of my questions. Still half to go so we'll see what the final verdict will be.
I left Pasadena at home this morning, so I just had to get this one --and a few others-- so I could have something to read during dinner. Because the thousand books in the Kindle don't count, do they? 😇 #bookmap
I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw this on Litsy. Holy Crap! this was good. It's the Library and Warehouse 13 with some Sherlock thrown in. So, great!
Took a nap and now I'm awake and ready to go golfing! JUST KIDDING. I'm reading. 😝📚🤘🏻
There is nothing like "falling" into a good book. ;)
