Yea I read this book and yea his money should be redistributed

It's an easy and fun read and Ashlee did a good job in not falling to temptation of deep diving into technical challenges Musk and team would have faced during their sojourn. The book gives good insight about persona of Musk however the writing leans too heavily on idolatry, almost making him super-human or real-life version of Tony Stark. May be Elon wouldn't have approved of a more realistic version of the biography.

Enjoyed this a lot. I didn‘t know much about his story or background before. Though he‘s certainly not perfect, his goals for his companies are admirable and his creativity and persistence are impressive. I think he‘s an interesting intersection between personal ambition and a desire to help humanity succeed.

The writing style was succinct and clear, but nothing too inspired or creative. It‘s Musk‘s story that keeps it moving.

I have read this more than one it is the perfect book for anyone that likes reading biographies, science, and business books. It was very well writing and I had a very easy time imagining what the young Elon Musk was going through and working towards at the time. It was non-fiction book that felt like a story while reading it. if you like biography books or business and innovation based book you will love this book by Ashlee Vance.motif in comment

I would like to give it a 4 star but due to its really looooooonnnggg chapters on Tesla and going deep into the technicalities which deviates this book from being a biography to Science read. Vance has potrayed both pros & cons of Musk eventhough at many places we can feel him as a fanboy. Love him or hate him Musk has so much potential to have a huge impact on our future.

A very good read. In the end, despite his flaws which are well displayed in this book, Musk remains one of the all time greatest innovators of our time. The book is an insight into this. Well written and well researched.

I loved this insight into some aspects of Elon Musk and especially the companies for which he is known. There is a significant focus on PayPal, Tesla, and SpaceX. A must read for any Elon fans.

My first biography I ever read.

It was an interesting read.

I don‘t usually read biographies or non fiction on my spare time but this is a must read. To read his story and his process for getting things done is admirable. The goals he sets for his team and the motivation and expectations he sets are unrealistic and...it gets done. In accomplishing those goals him and his team are changing the world in big ways.

Perfectly describes what a modern day entrepreneur goes through and how successful he can become after passing all the hurdles on the way

This book definitely changed my opinion of Elon Musk as a whole. I still find him insufferable in many ways, but now I see the complexities of his character and appreciate the fact that the betterment of mankind is his driving force. The book is a bit technical for my tastes at times, but that was expected given the subject matter. 4 out of 5 stars.

Pant legs vibrate from shock waves produced by a stream of sonic booms coming out of the Falcon 9‘s exhaust. The white rocket climbs higher and higher with impressive stamina. After about a minute, it‘s just a red spot in the sky, and then—poof—it‘s gone. Only a cynical dullard could come away from witnessing this feeling anything other than wonder at what man can accomplish.

The man behind Tesla, SpaceX, SolarCity and The Boring Company is the product of a very unusual upbringing. Brilliant, fearless and driven, Musk also has a desire to save mankind. He can be difficult but his goals for our collective future are so good it‘s impossible not to root for him. A bit too much detail on technical/business operations for me but overall I appreciated seeing into the life of a fascinating entrepreneur. #MayReading

Great book, author covered every aspects of Musk's life. From beginning of his blaster game to getting contact of NASA.Beautifully crafted. Must read for technocrats and entrepreneurs.

This book was very inspiring on what Musk is doing and how he got there but it is much clear that author Ashlee Vance reveres Musk. There is so much that Musk is going to achieve and I hope to read a better biography later in my life.

Interesting read, but left me with more questions than it answered. Wish Musk decides to write his autobiography so that we get to know him.

This gorgeous woman is Elon Musk's mother. Apparently she's a well known model, and is in a Beyoncé video. Everyone in the Musk family is fascinating and larger than life.

Was a great read ! Talks about musk in and out and gives a good detailed description of his character.

Would have been awesome if the author could have written the book year wise instead of talking about projects independently.

I LOVED this book! Musk's philosophy of work extremely hard, fix the problem now, and a visionary of multiple industries inspires me. Although I think he'd be hard to work for, his attention to detail, knowledge of his products, and clear vision of what is important to him is impressive. I was fascinated by the innovations of Tesla and SpaceX. I loved starting and ending my workday with this audiobook!

Very timely read! I had read the YA version a few months ago, but I very much enjoyed the added detail that the adult version added (beyond Musks love of the F word). He is an inspiration and a role model for us all when it comes to standing firm in what you believe and chasing your dreams until you make them your reality.

Listening to this audio on the way home from work after watching the Falcon Heavy's launch today gave my goosebumps. Way to go SpaceX!!!! So inspiring to me and my middle school engineering students😀

As I'm listening to this awesome audiobook about Musk who runs SpaceX, Tessa, has 5 kids, and a variety of other endeavors, it has dawned on me that, perhaps, I don't use my time very well.🤔

I have to say, I am extremely proud of myself for finishing this book (I listened to the audio). I'm not a very big fan of non fiction, but this book clearly has an extremely fascinating topic. Elon Musk is the modern day Walt Disney, for technology. It is not the most exciting read, but it is quite fascinating to experience his journey. Keep in mind that non fiction is not my forte, so that is why I rate this as So-so.
