Re-listening to the Grant County series is definitely my highlight of the month.
I was so disappointed with Atlas 🫤
I realised why this has always been my favourite book; it's the dual time-line.
I love when I get to know the younger versions of my favourite characters.
This re-listen really reminds me why Karin is one of my favourite authors.
This was the best one yet. You get a little backstory on Sara and Jeffrey when they first started dating. They‘re on their way to a beach vacation, but Jeffrey takes a detour and stops in his hometown in Alabama. He wants to show Sara where he‘s from, his very humble childhood, and meet his friends. Well, they‘re not even there one day and chaos ensued. It‘s sad and infuriating all at once. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView
“An officer is shot point blank in the police station lobby and sherrif Jeffrey Tolliver is wounded, setting off a terrifying hostage situation with medical examiner Sara Linton at the center. Jeffrey has not been fatally wounded, but Sara knows he could easily die if the bleeding is not stopped.”
I read way too many thrillers. I had this one pegged in the first quarter 😑
Torn between this being my favourite of the series and my least favourite at the same time. I did enjoy the background of Sarah and Jeffrey but it felt a little dragged on to me. Also, how are any of these people allowed to make decisions on anything? I question your judgement. All of it.

Great series that I'm glad I finally got around to reading.

Book 4 in the Grant County series was my #BookSpin this month.
This suspenseful thriller was good, but I couldn't help but compare it to the previous books and this one just wasn't quite as good as those. The book focuses mostly on Jeffrey and his past, and although I enjoyed learning more about him he's not a favorite character of mine.
Night shift reading. Now if I can just get people to stop calling 911 so I can read. Also featuring a barred owl I snapped a photo of while at work.
I got one bingo in August. I crossed 4 BOTM books off my list and a classic. Excited to see if I can get some more crossed off next month.
I can see why people love this series! Flawed but interesting characters,Sara , Jeffrey, & Lena are people you want to know more about , this book , 4th in the series, gives you some background on Sara & Jeffreys‘ budding relationship.A warning , they can be very violent & graphic , but bad guys can be very bad , can‘t they?
SO, I love Karin slaughter! My all time favorite book is “the good daughter” I‘m in love with will trent, and although I‘m not emotionally invested with Jeffery like I am will, the grant county series is still so good! The stories are horribly good. And this is the best story yet. Who doesn‘t love an origin story and the best thing is it‘s still set in real time! 2 whodunnits in one!
This one was intense! A change in the way the story was told vs the previous books in the series. Back story on Grant County‘s favorite crimesolving couple. Anticipating what‘s next for Lena...
I just love Karin Slaughter more and more with each book in this series. I liked how this installment switched back and forth between the present drama and how the relationship began with Sara and Jeffrey.
Falling more in love with Karin Slaughter‘s works!!! This was an excellent addition to the Grant county series! Loved loved loved it!
Happy Mother‘s Day to all the mamas out there! I‘m a mom of four-legged babies and am spending the morning reading at my brother‘s house waiting on my niece to wake up! This book is keeping me quite entertained!!! So many questions!
Not even 30 pages in and Karin Slaughter has me panicking! Man I love her books 😍
More than halfway through and so far I‘m liking this one a lot more than the previous book in the series!
Got my miles in early with Karin Slaughter... it‘s going to be a snowy windy storm today! 🌨❄️💨
I want to finish the Grant County series (two more to go) but I‘m not such a fan as many others. I can‘t put my finger on what‘s bothering me since they are definitely thrilling. Maybe it‘s the translation (I‘ve read the last two in Dutch and will switch now to English again), maybe it‘s that I don‘t really like any of the characters. That may be it.
I have been stopping and starting too many books over the last few weeks. Karin Slaughter seems to be the only author who can hold my attention these days. Book #4 in the Grant County series and some leftover Indian food. #BookAndLunch
Probably the strongest in the series so far, I'm super attached to these characters! The beginning just about gave me a heart attack though, the tension was off the charts and it's a nail biter for sure. I also really enjoyed the backstory. Karin Slaughter is top notch, folks 👏🏽
You know your book is good when you've been looking forward to the subway ride home all day 😆
Figured I'd finish out #24in48 by starting the fourth book in the Grant County series and BOOM. Karin Slaughter had to go and give me a friggin HEART ATTACK right at the beginning of the book. Seriously, my heart stopped. I should be winding down for bed but now I have to know what happens next before I lose my sh*t 😭

I tend to commit to a book series, but this may be the end of the Grant Country series.
My #FavouriteDetective is probably Jeffrey Tolliver from Karin Slaughter‘s Grant County series - I‘ve still got the last couple in the series to read - I‘m trying to pace myself with them ! #MarchMadness
Lovely idea to do a thriller based challenge @josteele - it‘s definitely the genre I read most of I think 😊
📖 YESSSSSS! This is the best in the Grant County Series so far! Oh my gosh. Wow. This installment has two plot lines: one from the present that is a NAIL. BITER. OMGGG. and also one from the past, set in Jeffrey‘s hometown. I know Jeffrey a little better now, which is great because I really like him. There is a meaty storyline here, but this is not the most squeamish book in the series!
🎧 Kathleen Early narrates the audio again: it is fabulous.
Reading by booklight with coffee ☕️ for a few minutes before I wake up my house for the day.
This book is the fourth in the Grant County Series and is OH MY GOSH, SO GOOD. Karin Slaughter knocked me over in the first chapter with this one and I‘m not even sure how I‘m breathing while I read it.
Grant County #4 This is another series that I love. This one was a little different as it was set in present day and also flashed back to when Sara and Jeffrey first became a couple. As usual, the story was gripping and I listened whenever/wherever I could. Slaughter has the ability to write characters that I love most of the time, but also hate sometimes. #litsyAtoZ #SisforSlaughter #seriescatchup
Just love Karin Slaughter!!! Onto her next whirlwind of a read!!!
