Name: Raine Benares Race: Elf Job: Seeker, bride, peace talks referee Problem: Back-stabbing diplomats, bride-hating mother-in-law Ive successfully destroyed the Saghred (AKA, a legendary soul-sucking rock). Ive sent an evil goblin demigod to the Lower Hells. Im coming to terms with my burgeoning new powers. Im marrying super sexy paladin Mychael Eiliesor. Youd think I could handle a wedding and meeting my soon-to-be mother-in-law without another calamity brewing. Youd be wrong! The new, thankfully non-psychotic, Goblin King is willing to come to the table to discuss a peace treaty. The Isle of Mid is the site of these delicate negotiations, meaning all hands on deck for Mychael and his Conclave Guardians. When the head of elven intelligence (and my wedding guest) Duke Markus Sevelien is nearly assassinated upon his arrival, I suspect my mother-in-law will be the least of my concerns. Sabotaging the peace talks is the first salvo in a treacherous and deadly new apocalyptic plot. Mychael and I might not make it to the altar after all!

The pandemic threw my baby brother‘s wedding plans into complete chaos...but the celebration this weekend was still joyful & perfect. In the end, he got hitched without a hitch!

Though, as it turns out, officiating in front of a large Zoom crowd is just as nerve-wracking as doing it in-person. I love writing ceremonies; reading them makes me want to barf. But...happy barf! 😅🤢😍

Laalaleighh @LauraBeth I feel like that's the one sentence pitch for the first season of some seriously over the top tv show. One where they keep flashing back to the wedding "where it all started" throughout the season leading up to the big bouquet toss reveal. Big little lies: wedding style. A fun fantasy adventure with pirates, mages, and complex peace negotiations. Don't let the stupid title and lame cover fool u. This book offers up badass heroines, a complex world, and inter-dimensional travel. You should read the first 6 books in the series cause they r pretty awesome, but this book takes on a different tone. More world building, and a more thorough exploration of the magic system make this book fun and interesting. 4/5 stars
