A quick and comfortable read. Exactly what I needed. I love me some gay coming of age teenage angst

Rather than being too similar to To All the Boys I've Loved Before, which is what I've heard, it reads like a perfect companion to it.

If you asked anyone in his small town, they‘d tell you: James Liddell, star athlete, decent student, and boyfriend to Theresa, is a happy, funny, carefree guy.

But whenever James sits down at his desk to write, he tells a different story. As he fills his drawers with letters he never intends to send, he spills the truth: he‘s trying hard, but he just isn‘t into Theresa. It‘s his friend, a boy, who lingers in his thoughts.

#TBR 😱📚

It was so, so, so amazing to read this book and I am so glad I decided to order it in to the store. It really brought me back to when I was about 16 and going through very similar things (the bad and the good) and it really made me re-live the "first romance" feels. It's something you get only once and it's often hard to remember but Logan designed this perfect little book to make you remember again! #LitsyFeature

Book four for the #bookisholympics is done. I LOVED this; of all the gay boy figures out who he is books I've read the last year, this is hands down the best written and most interesting. All of the characters are flawed, but in a very realistic way, and their behaviors aren't out of the ordinary for teenagers. This a pick for fans of quality coming out stories and sweet romance.

1/3 through and I'm loving this. Just the right mix of seriousness and funny, and it makes me miss New England.

Soubhiville Sounds right up my alley. What part of New England do you hail from? I grew up in VT. 8y
bookishkai @Soubhiville I grew up in Rhode Island, went to summer camp near Hanover, NH, and college in Western MA. Where in VT are you from? 8y

Starting book four for the #bookisholympics. I think this one's going to be perfect for end of summer reading.

A story that reminded me: coming out is something LGBTQ+ kids have to do again and again and again and again.

My three collections to pick from for next weekend's 24in48 readathon. I know I'll really probably only end up reading two or three of them, but I like having all my possible/most wanted choices right there so I don't have to spend time looking. Deciding, though, that's a whole other story.

Suzze I may dive into Missing Presumed for @24in48. I'm freestyling, so I'm not making any commitments. 😜 8y

Checked these out of the library today. YA helped me out of a multi-year reading slump a few years ago, and I have continued to look to it as a kind of palate cleanser: Great stories well told but devoid of the narrative tricks adult fiction often tries and fails at. Long weekend reading! 📚🎆🇺🇸😀

I wanted to read this quite honestly because of the cover, but I enjoyed it. It's a YA novel about a young man named James struggling with his sexuality who writes letters he never plans to send to help get out his feelings. It's a pretty quick read.

Sweet isn't the right word for this very heartfelt coming out story. It's very well written and somewhere between Simon va the Homo Sapiens Agenda and More Happy than Not in terms of tone. So serious, but full of heart and honesty. Definitely worth a read for Pride Month!

Peddler410 Is this one middle school appropriate? 8y
Dmbulan What could be more appropriate than this book for what Orlando is facing now (I live minutes away from Pulse). I wish everyone was as open and informed as the people I meet in the book community. As a teacher I do the best I can, but pray it is enough to stop the cycle of hate. I must read this book 8y
