This book was cute, but I don‘t think I‘m going to carry on and read the second one. Which makes for 2 more books off my shelf for #TheUnReadShelfProject. Although I‘ve bought a ton of books this month, I‘m also trying to read off my shelf as much as possible to balance the numbers 😅

It‘s not too often that I come across a main character in a book who shares my name. ♥️

After reading this for an hour, I‘m close to the half way point so I‘ve decided to finish it since it‘s such an easy read and I‘m enjoying it well enough.

I did read my doublespin for March (Hush, Hush) but I bailed on my bookspin (My not so perfect life) about a quarter of the way through because the book was just not for me.

I very much liked the beginning – but from the middle on it bored me.
Too much a children‘s book (for reader‘s around the age of 10). All the “suspense” just seemed exaggerated to me.

So I bailed because the story couldn‘t distract me from all the stress I have at work at the moment. 😟

Additionally I accidentally found out that the book is the first volume of a series – and remember: No more book series for me … 🤷🏽‍♀️

No, not far in at all but what I saw is already promising.

The letters on the front cover and the lock are a relief. The first chapter contains of only the letter “X” or “x” and the author shall actually keep a big secret – that‘s probably why the title says “The Name of this Book is a Secret” – but he obviously can‘t keep it – because he deliberately admits he has never been able to keep a secret.

Wonderfully witty. Let the games begin‼️😃

As I outsmarted myself this week with Kai Meyer‘s „Der Pakt der Bücher“ I purposely didn‘t bring a book for the weekend but decided to minimise the stack I have at my significant other‘s. The tagged one is the book he took as I made him draw lots.

I‘m more than half way through this book and it‘s sooo good! It is a series and I can‘t wait to read all the books! @VictoriaB has been nagging me to read this book and I finally have and I‘m glad, thanks mom😊. I totally recommend this book to people who like mystery and adventure with amateur detectives!!

Great bedtime read. We loved the premise, characters, and original plot.
My high school daughter gives 4/5, my tween son gave a full 5.

I think I had set my expectations too high for this book. I had flipped through the first few pages and thought the premise was so fun... but the story itself was just... meh.. and I think that kids would be thrown off by the language this book uses. Not a fan.

I needed something quick and light to finish out the month and I‘ve had this checked out from my work for months, so I think it‘s time! Anyone read this middle grade series?

I‘m sticking with the “something light and fun” theme, and moving on to this book that I‘ve had on my shelf forever.

Haven't posted in a while, I've been down in South Florida to visit family. Top photo is my uncle's new puppy Louis (😍🐕!!!) On the left is a boardwalk we stopped at and there were massive alligators that got really close!(there's actually one in that pic but you can't rly see it)And we then (of course) went to Barnes and Noble- I really want some of those awesome hard cover classics😍I got a little reading done this trip finished the tagged book

So this is really it now. Dinner done, did my night-time rituals (short bath and all that jazz), and now ready to dive back again to this chunkster of a novel whose title will remain a mystery for the #1001BookSwap #SEAReaders, with the reading journal conveniently covering the book. Goal is to read at least two hours before turning in for the evening. Tracking my progress thru my iphone stopwatch. #Readathon #DeweysReadathon

This was delightful. Looking forward to reading the entire series. Highly recommend for middle grades. Magical realism mixed with mystery and a kick-butt 11yo heroine.

Listened to this on audio with the kids while driving hours through a snowstorm with the kids and the dog. Sure wish it could count for next year's Freezer-Worthy Horror. I don't do horror books...this was quite enough for me! I still liked it, but not sure I want to finish the series. #LitsyChallenge2017

I have this series in my library, never read it but it's popular. Maybe this blind match will be this book? Then I'll have to read it.

Cass and Max-Ernest investigate the mysterious death of local magician Pietro Bergamo. Frequently during the course of the book Pseudonymous chastises himself for writing the secret, going so far as to change his mind and stop halfway through, only to bribe himself into completing the story with chocolate.

Funny and mysterious! It was a very whimsical story. 🌟🌟🌟🌟4/5.
