My Christmas gift to myself 🤗🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I cannot wait!!!!
8-14-22: My 79th finished book of 2022! While I thoroughly enjoyed the writing style of the stories in this book, I did not laugh, not once. That‘s ok though, because I felt other things, especially when he wrote about his mother. Each story focused on David as a young boy and young man, growing up in the 70s. He led an interesting life full of travel and odd jobs. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣7️⃣9️⃣
This is probably the funniest book I‘ve ever read. It wasn‘t without its emotional moments though, Ashes being my favorite story! There isn‘t a very profound way for me to articulate that I love the author‘s writing style and personality. I will definitely be reading more of his work in the near future

Entertaining as usual, but not my favorite by Sedaris
Not my favorite collection by Sedaris. Some bits were really entertaining but most were somber and disturbing. This was an older collection and I think his newer memoirs are a better blend of humor and insight. Additionally, I prefer Sedaris reading as a lone narrator as opposed to this performance read by both the author and his sister, Amy Sedaris. Still enough chuckles to give this a pick. #Audio
Was able to download this #audio from #OverDrive 😜And double treat...David Sedaris and Amy Sedaris both narrate 🙌🏻💕
(Disclaimer: I listened to the Audio) An entertaining collection of short stories and essays, full of Sedaris‘ wit and humor.
It's a little dreary outside this morning, but nothing a book and a good cup of coffee can't fix. 😊📚☕ #coffeeandabook
OMG, thank you so much, @KimM for my wonderful #hometownswap package. I love everything and look forward to diving into these books. I‘m actually luxuriating in the bathbomb bath as I‘m typing this. 😁😍
I need some breakfast. Doing some #audiocooking #ReverseReadathon @DeweysReadathon
This wasn‘t my favorite Sedaris, mostly because I kept getting distracted. It focuses a lot on his childhood which, as funny as he is, is disturbing to read about at times. Overall though, it‘s just as strong as his other collections I‘ve read (or listened to) and I especially liked the title story about his time at a nudist trailer park.
Day 11 of the RiotGrams Challenge:
Naked Hardcovers
Does this count?

Sedaris is my favorite essayist, and I enjoyed this one. For me his writing is just comfortable. Even when he makes you think, you know he's going to turn it around and have you smiling in no time.
My favorite essay in this book was the title work, Naked. Knowing his personality, just the idea of him in a nudist colony cracks me up.
In the audio he had parts read by his sister Amy. I found that a bit distracting. Otherwise it was great.
Adore, adore, adore. One of the funniest, weirdest books EVER.
My Goodwill #bookhaul. Some came from the regular Goodwill store and some came from those atrocious boxes at the "outlet" across town. I've read most of these, but either wanted a hard copy or to give away. The Christie is really pretty. More photos to come in another post. ?
We were not a hugging people. In terms of emotional comfort it was our belief that no amount of physical contact could match the healing powers of a well made cocktail.
“I was a smart-ass, born and raised. This had been my curse and would continue to be so.”
I first read this in print 10 years ago or so. This was freaking delightful on #audio! Sedaris narrates and his sister Amy pops in for the female speaking parts. Together, they are absolutely hilarious. I think I could listen to him tell personal stories all day long. I can't wait to continue rereading all of his books in this format.
Today's gym #soundtrack - laughing out loud. 😆🎧💪🏻🏋🏼♀️ I forgot how funny this book is. #reread #audiobook #overdrive #mindandbody #multitasking
I have read and loved other David Sedaris books, but there is something about listening to him tell his own stories that makes them even better. This one featured his sister Amy too. I love their mom. Now onto the other books in this box set. #audiobook
http://www.newyorker.com/culture/personal-history/david-sedaris-the-ihop-years?m.... Excerpts in the link of his diaries, he is amazing and hilarious.
My favorite essay collection has to be by David Sedaris. Words can not express how much I love this man. Every book, every story, every This American Life episode he has contributed to, makes my heart swell. #readathonessays
This post covers two tags! A bunch of #OneWordTitle books for #Riotgrams...including Naked, which is one of my #MostReread books for #FeistyFeb.
#Riotgrams day 3 - #onewordtitle
I was convinced I didn't have any one word titles... turns out I was very wrong. A stack of read and to be read!
I read this backpacking somewhere or other in Asia. Irritated by my constant laughing fits, my friend insisted I read the essays out loud. So I did and I'm sure we either entertained or annoyed everyone else on the bus that day. #augustphotochallenge #funnybooks @TheSpinecrackersBookClub
Today's #augustphotochallenge - I pick the Sedaris siblings as my #favebookishsiblings. You can't not love the affectionate dysfunction. @TheSpinecrackersBookClub
I can (and have) read Naked over and over again. It never fails to make me snort laugh hysterically. #augustphotochallenge #day8
"We were not a hugging people. In terms of emotional comfort it was our belief that no amount of physical contact could match the healing powers of a well made cocktail." David Sedaris always makes me smile. #augustphotochallenge
Almost 6 hours in and second book down! I love Sedaris's dry and somewhat sarcastic sense of humor and I think this is my favorite of his essay collections so far! #24in48
We were not a hugging people. In terms of emotional comfort it was our belief that no amount of physical contact could match the healing powers of a well made cocktail - much more where that came from!
My first Sedaris. Very funny. Want to read more.
Such a maniacal and lovably skewed vision of the world. Caution: Book needs a carpet... for all that 'roflamo'!
