Reading this one for LMPBC and it‘s making me sad. Doesn‘t help that it‘s a gloomy day! Also in the middle of The Goldfinch for a neighborhood book club. Another uplifting read!
pickRead for this latest round of #lmpbc so I won‘t say much here since the other readers in my group haven‘t gotten it yet.
However, I will say that I enjoyed the format of this book; I didn‘t expect something written by 18 people to come across so cohesively. It is also an interesting take on a subject that‘s been well documented - school gun violence. If you have an interest in this subject, I would recommend this one.

This is not a perfect book but it certainly is an important one that I won‘t soon forget. It‘s given me a lot to think about that I expect to chew on for a while.

pickThis book was written in such an interesting way. The story of a school shooting told from over ten POVs. The chapters did not all take place in order and happened before, during, and after the event.
pickThis book has left me feeling very restless. I read it in one sitting this afternoon. The format was interesting although I am unsure what the significance of certain POVs were. Such a sad, yet realistic subject matter.
Among the reasons I attended NoVaTeen was to see Eric Smith. Eric lived in Richmond for too brief a time, and many of us miss him. Glad he made it. Saw him with Anna-Marie McLemore and Shaun David Hutchinson on a panel about anthologies. Was a great conversation with some interesting insights into how anthologies are made. #novateenbf #NTBF18
so-soI finally finished! I definitely found this book interesting. I love the idea of writing from the different perspectives. Though some of the perspectives felt unnecessary to me. I could've lived without the chapter coming from the gun's point of view 🤗

pickI don't usually like compilation books but holy shit did I love how this was written. The stories were all done well but the only thing I wish is that we would have gotten a story from Kirby's POV
pickA really interesting high-concept teen novel - 17 YA authors each write a chapter using different witnesses/POV (including one that was very unexpected) to try to explain the unexplainable: a school shooting. I'd really like to talk to the editor and ask about the order of stories (which had some interesting pairings/callbacks) and why they chose these specific POV.
