pickThe first story has Xanthe time traveling to relieve the angst and threats from a woman who haunts her. In book2, an old copper chocolate pot calls to her in a distressful manner which she investigates. Coincidentally, the chocolate pot seems to come from 1605 which was the era of her previous trip. While Xanthe tries to balance her life between past and present, she realizes that she plays a bigger role in history than she realized.

The Secrets of the Chocolate House is the second in The Found Things series. Xanthe and her mom own an antique shop in England. In their search for objects to sell, Xanthe finds objects that "sing to her"-to alert her to travel back in time to help somebody. It sounds very hokey, and it is. It's also an enjoyable, engaging listen (moreso than book one). It ends abruptly. I will continue to listen to the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
pickBook #2 in the series. I liked this book better and I think I‘m hooked. Although I‘ve got some other books on loan I have to read before they‘re due, before I can get to book 3. Again, it‘s no Outlander. And really what they have in common is time travel to the past. ‘Found Things‘ is its own thing and probably shouldn‘t be compared to the other. I like how the depth of characters spans both timelines.

pickI didn‘t like how the recap of the last book happened but I liked how Xanthe got some closure. There‘s something about this series that brings me in.
pickA great sequel to book one! I love that Xanthe gets a chance to see Samuel again, and to heal from both her recent past (her ex shows up) and her distant past (i.e. the 17th century). Xanthe continues to work on righting the wrongs of history, but she's also growing her current relationships in her adoptive small town. Loved more of Harley and Liam, and can't wait for book 3!

so-soSecond in a series set in English countryside, both current day and (by time travel) the 17th century. Xanthe is a quirky and dithering heroine who also sings in pubs. She‘s trying to save her 17th century sweetie. This one had many mentions of chocolate, which has me in a bad place, given the pandemic quarantine. Wanted to love it more than I did.

Xanthe appears to be an ordinary young woman but she‘s not. Certain historical items sing to her and she must travel in time to correct some misdeed in the past.
Interesting if a bit slow for my taste.
pickThis was much better than the first. Zanthe time travels back to the 1700s to help Samuel. She finds a new friend and a foe.
pickThis is the second in series about a young woman living in Marlborough and helping her mum run an antique shop. Xanthe has a gift for hearing certain antique objects “speak” (in this case a copper chocolate kettle from the 17th century). She has a vision that Samuel (an architect she fell for in the previous book) may be in trouble and travels back to try and help him. In the process she learns more about her gift of “spinning” time from a ⬇️⬇️
Up next is the sequel to The Little Shop of Found Things, which I read last October and was a 4⭐️ for me. These are a mixture of time travel, ghost story (my second in a row 😄), mystery and romance. Out 10/22.
