Day 26 - Black cat
@Clwojick
#black cats are a key design element in this house throughout the year, but even more so during spooky season. 🐈⬛ I haven‘t read this book yet, but it sounds great and has a fabulous cover. #ominousoctober
Starting this one today. What are you reading this weekend?
A collection on superstitions and their origins. Quick read.
A delightful read on common (and not-so-common) superstitions.
New door hanger! #scarathlon #teamslaughter #halloween
Easy pick for #blackcat 🖤
This was a gift from the wonderful @KristinaRay for last year‘s witchy swap, and I‘m planning to read it this month.

Well, I‘m only 14pp into this book and I am disinclined to trust anything in it given the whopper of inaccuracy in the first entry. Rhodes identifies Saint Dunstan as a “first-century blacksmith monk”. Ummm, no. He was one of the three great movers and shakers of the tenth-century Benedictine reforms in Anglo-Saxon England. Nine centuries off. That‘s just sloppy research.
#superstitious for #spookyoctober and #lookwhatyoumademedo for #uncannyoctober . Technically it‘s look what @MrBook made me do, since this was yet another #blameMrBook purchase. 🙌🏻As a superstitious black cat owner, how could I not?!
This was an interesting book. A look at some of the world's most common and intriguing superstitions, and the customs, beliefs, and meanings behind them. A nice, quick read for anyone interested in the topic.
A good day for superstitions + fairy tales.
Well, that's everyday, really 📚😉📚
#TBRtemptation post! This is a beautiful book. Rhodes places a multitude of superstitions and legends in their historical and social contexts. Many were to ward off the devil, demons, witches , & other evil beings, and also to promote longer, healthier lives. Through incantations & superstitions, those in our darker past attempted to overcome hardship, illness, & injustice. Love books like this ☺️! #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
