#LuckyInLove Day 6 #Sunset
(An oldie in my tbr, story of my life🙄)

I finished this book today and ended up not hating it. I still think the mc was extremely immature, but she grew. There are two mysteries she‘s trying to solve — the one in the present, it took me a while to figure out one evil person; for the one in the past, I didn‘t figure it out at all and had to wait for the reveal. The botanical gardens cat came out and said “hi” today. #audiowalk
Another day of working, walking and listening to Sunset Beach. I also had to go to the dmv to get our tags and registration; I finally feel legal! We were supposed to get them in October. Settled down to watch one of our traditional Christmas movies — Santa‘s Slay.
It‘s back to Sunset Beach for my walking book. More of Drue stomping her foot and shrieking, “Daddy, the evil stepmother wants me to do the work you pay me to do!” The reason I stick with it is that she has compassion for other people and is trying to solve the murder of a young woman that both the police and her father‘s law office have ignored or not done well by — the law firm was hired for a wrongful death suit. Chilly outside! #audiowalk
I had to take my husband to the doctor for a followup appointment. While waiting for him, I read some of Moby Dick, went for a walk and listened to Sunset Beach. If those provisions are typical of a whaling ship, those sailors must have been constipated! MC in MKA book is still a brat. Today‘s offense by the stepmother? Expecting mc to do her job. 🙄That rose garden by the hospital is prettier than it looks in these pics. #audiowalk #MobyDickbr
Now the mc is telling a friend how awful her stepmother (who is her age & the office manager at her workplace) is to her. I can generally get behind disliking characters who are awful to the mc, but so far all the sm has done is suggest that the mc dress in something besides jeans and a t-shirt for her work in a law office and tell her if her car is going to break down everyday, making her an hour late, perhaps she needs to do something about it.
This is my new walking book. I hate the main character so far; she is a bratty, immature 36 year old. Every time she‘s says or does something, I want to scream, “You‘re almost 40; grow up!” I‘m hoping she does just that. It was a beautiful day for a walk — a little warmer than it had been, though. #audiowalk
I just finished up #sunsetbeach by @marykayandrews and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I really loved the main character, Drew, and I loved how she never gave up on discovering the truth of what really happened to Jasmine. To me, this is went beyond her character because she was known for failing and giving up on everything but this was like a turn of events for her and it really showed her true character and strength! I highly recommend this one!
This was good! Several mysteries wrapped up in an interesting backstory that made for a compelling beach read. It was a little longer than it needed to be, so the ending dragged a bit, but overall I'm wondering why I don't pick up Mary Kay Andrews' books more often! 🏖
Well. Definitely not what I expected....it was better. Really enjoyed the 3 stories within the cover. MK out did herself once again....
Current read/listen, so far so good, but the audiobook says 14 hours that is wayyy to long. We will see if I finish it better be good.

So many of Mary Kay Andrews‘ books have cute covers and #beach titles. I am not at the beach to read these, in fact it has rained all day, but that‘s ok because our heat wave is over for a minute! #LetsTravelJuly
What an awesome surprise today from #Macmillan Audio! Thank you #MaryKayAndrews for these giveaway! I can‘t wait to listen to these on my vacation to Mexico! #summerfun #SunsetBeach
When the main character eats her hashbrowns from Waffle House just like you do...
Pretty good week - had a beach day, enjoyed my flowers and finished this book. Loved the book! Not liking the tornado warning.
I‘m not #SittinOntheDockoftheBay but I do have the afternoon off! I‘m going to watch the Women‘s World Cup and read this book. I‘m trying to decide if it will be a good gift for my momma‘s birthday. #SongsofSummer
Some beach
Somewhere
There's a big umbrella casting shade over an empty chair
Palm trees are growing and warm breezes blowing
I picture myself right there🎶

Great summer read, not like her others....this has a mystery. Quick read.
This book is between a pick and a so so. I think it was just a bit too long and I was itching for it to end. Also, I think the victim from the 1976 murder mystery got a raw deal and that just didn't sit well with me. I've yet to find a book by her that captures the magic of "Summer Rental". Oh, well.
5 fabulous stars!! I absolutely loved Drue and the not one but two murder mysteries!! If you enjoy this I‘m also recommending Mary Kay Andrews 2018 release The High Tide Club. It‘s entertaining with a gorgeous southern setting on Talisa Island making it the perfect summer read (a 5 star for me.) ❥
Tonight‘s the Savannah launch of Mary Kay Andrews‘ new book. We love our summer book queen and love selling books for her!
🍭🍭🍭🍭 review is up on my blog. Stop by and say hi! https://reecaspieces.com/2019/05/06/sunset-beach-by-mary-kay-andrews-review-fict.... This cover is deceiving. This is a mystery novel.
Another great beach read by Mary Kay Andrews. I loved her last book THE HIGH TIDE CLUB. Expect for two small issues I loved this one.
SUNSET BEACH is a page-turner filled with humor, charm, and compelling characters.

I received this book from #NetGalley and I loved it!! Part family drama, part cold-case murder mystery, part love story. All the good stuff wrapped up in a terrific little beach novel! #sunsetbeach #marykayandrews
Third ARC in five days. Busting through my #NetGalley advances. This should get me ready for spending spring break on the beach. #sunsetbeach #marykayandrews
OK, I‘ve struggled over this review because for some this book will be great. I‘ve read one other MKA book and have decided maybe she‘s just not a favorite for me. I found the main characters in both books to be immature for their ages and not really that likable. There are two mysteries here, one predictable but the other with a twist that did not reflect how I had come to see the character. If you like MKA, you‘ll probably like this. 3/5⭐️ 🔽
Up next...ahhh, wish I was there! 🌞🏖☮️
