Funny, naughty, on point, and has made me take concerted steps to a better moisturisation routine - ha! Luvvie does not hold back!
This is a quirky, funny life lesson Manuel about all kinds of current topics. I follow Luvvie on IG and love her beautiful sarcastic wit! #diversifyyourbookshelf #nonfiction
The author tackles such topics as racism, religion, body-shaming, social media over-sharing, and many others with a touch of humor. She calls all of us out, herself included, and makes many good points about how we‘re all awful, as well as how we can do better.

🎧 I feel like I‘ve reviewed this already. I liked the book, she reads it herself. It starts laugh out loud funny but delves into more serious controversial adult material. She shares her opinions freely and isn‘t afraid to shame anyone. A lot was spot on for me, some was a miss & some things I had no knowledge of. It will get you talking & that‘s a sign of a good book if you ask me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️3/4
Few books that are described as laugh out loud are actually laugh out loud for me but this one did, funny and truthful in a way I enjoyed. Found her Ted talk then searched out this book. Both worth the time.
While looking for an “available now” audiobook, I settled on this one because I loved the title.
This book is an all-encompassing call out, addressing anything and everything from social media over-posting to body-shaming. Luvvie delivers her call-outs with humor, and while none of her points are revolutionary, they are entertaining.
This book teeters between a “pick” and a “so-so” for me.
So I'm unlikely to get any more reading in, which puts me far short at 11 hours and 43 minutes. Only finished one book (Hey Nostradamus), but read pieces of many others. Follow up photo to come #24in48 #24in48readathon
From Thich Naht Hanh to Judgy books...I have quite the stream of consciousness here with my book choices! Surprisingly, these two authors are closer than you'd think. I quite enjoy the rants in this book, and they really do lead to solid 'let's just be better people' points #24in48 #24in48readathon #manybooks #finishingnone
Fun and short with some funny moments and interesting points.
I finished the audiobook of this one today. It was ok - I liked parts but wasn‘t blown away by any of it. I think I had high expectations because I‘d read a few great reviews. I‘d never heard of her before but thought I‘d give it a shot and whilst I wasn‘t disappointed, I simultaneously wasn‘t that impressed either.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
I also finished this one. I liked this a lot. Basically, this is a blogger and she tells it like it is. And I loved it. 💖📚🎧

A smidge late, but here goes.
1. My hubby
2. Hot cocoa
3. I woke up
4. Cool weather so I can wear a sweater
This was one of my challenge picks and it was okay. I found the author to be a little annoying in some parts. It was funny, but I thought I would have liked it more. Just okay for me. #booked2018 #diversenonfiction
I am a complete audiophile. This audio book is amazing. While I work, I'm getting so many life lessons🎧🎧🎧
I wanted this whole book to be the bonus chapter. I love Luvvie on Twitter, but I didn‘t find what I was looking for here.

I had two blows to my #24in48 participation that put me in a position of not being able to come close to a respectable time. My tomorrow self is judging my tonight self for the attempt.
I‘m judging this book ... and ditching it about a quarter in. Ranting, but neither particularly funny nor insightful.
Day 7 of the RiotGrams Challenge:
Ice Cream/Sweet Treats
This sweet treat is a little sassy!

As someone who delivers side eye shall we say, liberally, I found myself nodding along to this so much I‘m sure I resembled a bobblehead. From crappy friends and social media jackasses to racists, sexists, and homophobes, no one is immune from Ajayi‘s biting wit. I loved it. 4⭐️
Gorging myself on penne, tomato basil sauce, and freshly grated parmigiano reggiano and reading some Luvvie Ajayi because...Monday. 😴
It‘s interesting how we correspond now more than ever because of platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, yet we are failing at basic communication worse than ever.
Waiting for the hubs to be done an hour long appointment means coffee and judging people 😅 #winningatlife #judgeybutstillnice #isweariamaniceperson
Could not be more excited about buying this today! Taking the suggestion from Book Riot that this will be a good read-alike for the show The Good Place. #readalike #bookriot #tvandbooks
It was a really rough day and I literally couldn‘t hold a book. I just want to zone out and play spider solitaire. Letting Luvvie just lull me.
This is such an A+ book. Luvvie is hilarious and does the best dang job narrating her book. Parts of it seem to be mostly reiterating things that we've heard before, but sprinkled with a bit of sass and it's not all that bad. Loved it.
Spent three hours this morning doing laundry and having breakfast with Luvvie. Blueberry stuffed French toast has now been consumed. I‘m switching back to print.

Spending my #LitsyPartyOfOne Day 1 with these delicious homemade spicy noodles and re-listening to my girl Luvvie Ajayi‘s hilarious collection of essays.
We fly back to the US Monday and arrive home Tuesday afternoon with a one day stop in Qatar. Luvvie's book is keeping me company this final weekend. I'm really enjoying it!
Up on the horizon is a potential trip to Iceland in a few months! We are also looking at taking the train to Washington DC this fall to visit the Smithsonian. I have been bitten by the travel bug!

A fabulous and fun first read for the year! The post script alone is a welcome call-to-arms and although the information presented isn't necessarily new, Luvvie is spot on about her observations and refreshingly honest both about her opinions and her delivery. Loved listening to her narration!
Definitely a #recommendsday title for those of us who lean a little more liberal or 💙 rather than ❤ in the political landscape.
Currently listening to and loving ⬆
Luvvie speaks truth and common sense, something most of us grown folks should have plenty of and sometimes lack. I love how refreshingly frank she is and I give her all the stars! 😄
I think her do-better manual ought to be mandatory reading to prevent a lot of unnecessary uncouthness and silly shenanigans.

Helloooo, truthbombs! This was absolutely brilliant. I ended up staying in my car for 15 more minutes after I parked just to finish.

Seems to be the right pick for my work commute this week. 🤨
I think it's clear I need another bookshelf. Have been trying to hint to the hubs to no avail. 😕 Bonus points if you can spot the tagged book!
Just finished. It was funny and entertaining.
📚🎉📚 hello awesome ebook deal! Especially if you need some laughter in your life.
I didn't have much luck with the #booksandcandy prompt - but I did find a book with candy on the cover!

I picked this audiobook up on a whim and don't know the author's professional background, but I really enjoyed the book! She starts out with some more light-hearted, humorous essays, and then lays into some real truth-bombs; preach! and then the last half or so alternates between funny and serious chapters. If you're looking for a funny, but also thought-provoking book, I'd recommend this on audio!
“What Christopher Columbus‘s goofass needed was a compass and a clue for being so aggressively mediocre, but that dude has a federal holiday in his honor. He showed up on someone else‘s property and claimed it as his because he didn‘t know what it was. This country started off all the way wrong and continued in the same fashion.”
Started this on audio today while cleaning the apartment. Enjoying it so far!
