“Hope Rides Again” and it‘s predecessor “Hope Never Dies” are both fun reads that don‘t take themselves too seriously with a wise-cracking Joe Biden and a “comedy of errors” approach to crime solving.

I‘m officially DNF/Bailing on this book. I haven‘t read any of it in months. I will come back to it though because I do want to read it right now isn‘t the time though.
1. The tagged physical book.
2. By genre, then topic. I try to keep some authors together no matter the genre.
3. I don‘t currently have any 😢

I was just as bored with this one as the first one. There are some humorous parts that made me chuckle, but overall I've found the books rather dull. I like the concept of the series and I wanted to like them, but they're not for me. It was my #BookSpin for this month so I wanted to finish it. I read the first half of the book then kind of half assed speed read the other half because I wanted to know how it ended.

I love that Shaffer always draws in the books he signs (in person). And I‘ve had the Biden decal on the side of my fridge since Shaffer gave it to me after the first book came out. I didn‘t think at the time that Biden would be president, but I‘m sure the White House freezer will be stocked with ice cream today. I‘m really excited to watch Kamala shatter the glass ceiling—I took off work to watch.
Stopped at my favorite indie bookstore today and spent some Christmas money. I got one other mask as well but it is in the car. I‘m excited to read these.

Need a fun, snarky, and a legit mystery? Yes, we can. I picked this up in a celebratory mood on 11/4. I also needed a balance to the history/ politics book about strongmen leaders. And it was a perfect fit. These two going rogue can only exist in the imagination of Shaffer. And he does it with style ... including the infamous tan suit and Chicago St. Patrick‘s Day mayhem.

This came through the return chute the day before we knew the election results...
Holy Moly! FOX just called it for Biden too!
They‘ve called it! President Elect Biden!
Just a recommendation for the #creepychristmas & horror fans. Shaffer wrote the Obama/Biden mysteries & other humorous books. This one comes out November 10th. It‘s horror but will probably have some humor, too.
My birthday book run, to Barnes and Nobles..sponsored by my husband😊♥️📚😎
The one liners were great. The bromance was heartwarming. The mystery was so so.
I love this book. It's a funny, irreverent read. And I found another book quote. 😍📚 Sorry it's a bit blurry.
These books are really funny. This is the 2nd in the series. I love this quote. That has to be some lead foot. 😂📚

1. @NataliePatalie and me
2. The creeping creeper paused.
3. WINDY and high 68ish.

So it‘s been an expensive week- water heater failed so exchanged the tank heater for a tankless and rear brakes, roters and ball bearings needed. Today spent 3 hour at auto body shop while they blared the impeachment hearings but I brought my book- Obama Biden ride again and I was insulated and felt warm and fuzzy in my bubble of nostalgia- this brought me joy in the midst of the debacle- highly recommend this -inject hope into your life!🇺🇸👍💖
That was a fun read. Not as novel as the first one because we‘re used to the concept now but still fun. We went to the Mississippi coast today instead of the Alabama/Florida side.
Chilling at the beach.
I left the book I was reading in my office at work, so I‘m settling in to read this for the night instead. I will probably alternate between the tagged book, reading The Grapes of Wrath, and listening to Due or Die.
It's always a pleasure to visit my favorite bookstore in #Nashville, and even better to visit when someone as entertaining as Andrew Shaffer is promoting his new book. #TheBookshop

Minimum wage in Illinois is 8.25 an hour. Close but no cigar.
Time to dive into this jewel.
I have to say I love Uncle Joe but in this election Mayor Pete has my vote.
I usually set my GR goal on the low side because there might be a time during the year when I can‘t read as much. It just helps me keep track of what I‘ve read. I counted, & I have read more books this summer than last—& hit goal a month earlier. Probably because I haven‘t traveled as much & because it‘s been an escape from worrying about jobs. I read more books from library than bought & actually read some that were on my tbr (about half).
As a Kentuckian, I would also like to apologize for Mitch McConnell. 😂😂
They probably should have left good enough alone with Hope Never Dies and not done a sequel. The campy crime detective duo thing was okay, but it felt like they were forcing jokes into about every other line and it just got old to me.
Two authors I love because they draw in my books—Andrew Shaffer & David Arnold. Both living in Kentucky. Both are great supporters of our local independent bookstore, esp David Arnold (author of Mosquitoland, kids of appetite, etc). David often helps promote authors at our bookstore & was there tonight to support his friend. Andrew Shaffer was hilarious. If you get a chance, go see him. I‘m very fortunate to have so many great authors in Ky.
You know a book signing is going to be entertaining when the author starts off with a trump baby balloon bouncing around.
— I already have decals from a previous signing (Biden w/ ice cream, “vote you f...ers”) but was going to get a few more to give out. Unfortunately, he forgot them. I think if you go on his website & send an email request, he will send one.
Signed book and swag from @FountainBookstore . These are going to be collector's items someday. I swear it! No matter who gets the nomination, I agree with the sentiment of the bumper sticker. Can't wait to read this, need some comic relief. 😂

Saturday Morning Reading. ☺️
First book finished for #24in48!
Much less ice cream in this one but equally over the top with the Americana similes and crazy antics. Perfect start to my day.
With an expected high of 34 and how muggy it‘s already feeling at 6:30, I think this‘ll be my only chance for some outdoor reading today...
#24in48
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shaffer‘s Biden and Obama caricatures reignite their bromance while solving a south Chicago gang-related crime. Entertaining and witty. Biden‘s first person narration tickles me. Plus, like Hope Never Dies, this second installment has a glorious cover. The tan suit is a character all it‘s own. Good, campy fun! I hope there are more Obama Biden Mysteries to come!
Two library holds coming in right before #24in48?! Yahoo!! Looking forward to both of these ☺️

Happy Pub Day to Andrew Shaffer! I‘m sure this one will be as ridiculous as the first. The cover is just as amazing. 🤩
Also, New Teen Titans (from the 80s).
