Love these two.
Fantastic court intrigue, great characters, tense plot, and good world-building. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
With this finished, I only need to read one more book to meet my #RushAThon goal!

Ironically I started this graphic novel on #hoopla because I was having trouble sleeping 😂
I enjoyed it! It's a story about an illegitimate princess and her sleepless knight working to figure out who's plotting to kill her. The art is gorgeous and the magic system is interesting. Looking forward to volume two!
#ReallyRandomFebruary Day 18: Fats‘ review: The book “tells the story of Lady Poppy and her #faithful knight, Cyrenic. Cyrenic took the Sleepless vow and devoted his life to protecting his Lady. After Poppy‘s uncle was crowned as the new king in Harbeny, an assassin attempted to kill Poppy. With no one to turn to, Poppy and Cyrenic must work in secret to discover who wanted Poppy dead.” More here: https://wp.me/pDlzr-kRS

This is rapidly approaching the day it needs to be returned to the library, so a little graphic novel reading before bed it is.
Really enjoyed this one! Annoyed I slept* on it for so long.
*please forgive the terrible pun
This is an ongoing romance/fantasy comic set in a diverse medieval world where royals are guarded by “sleepless knights” who take an oath to never sleep. Lots of palace intrigue and a hint of romance with the princess/knight trope. Beautiful art, especially the patterns of the dresses.
Happy #StaffPickFriday from Rare bookseller Morgan! ????????? by Leila Del Duca & Sarah Vaughn ?: "This is the most amazing thing I've read in a long time. It's a story of magic and intrigue in which our heroine, the illegitimate daughter of the king, fears for her life. But her sleepless knight is there to protect her. Or is he? The fact that he hasn't slept in years is affecting him..." Find it on the 2nd fl in our comics section! ?
Guys, this graphic novel series is so good. I want more!
I picked up both volumes of this and loved it. Great world building, romance, women who take charge and a fennic fox! Its also beautiful. I enjoyed the whole story and hope I find more of the authors and artists works to enjoy.
A great intro to a new series. We have a beautiful heroine of color, the illegitimate daughter of the late king. The new king is her uncle, the new heiress is her cousin. Her life is in danger, but her valiant sleepless knight protects her. There is court intrigue, assassins, knights, tournaments, princesses, beautiful courtly dresses, an amalgam of European and African culture, a hint of romance, magic, gorgeous art. Can‘t wait for more. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My library is awesome. When I first tried to put this on hold, they said it is not out yet but they will buy it and hold it for me. And it came! I will be the first to read it!
@Riveted_Reader_Melissa
I want the next volume soon...
Poppy is an amazing main character and the art, particularly the color, is also fabulous.
😍
⭐️⭐️
I really wasn‘t a huge fan of this graphic novel and expected more from it when I first heard about it. The plot was okay with solid artwork and I know it will obviously continue with the next volume, but overall the novel did not leave much of an impression on me. Maybe I‘ll try to read it at another time and see if I still think the same.
Engaging story and absolutely gorgeous artwork! Ready for the next installment.

Comics I read in October. #monthlywrapup #octoberreads #octoberstats #comics
Favorites: (other than Saga 😍😭) The Prince and the Dressmaker was amazing and a #blameitonlitsy read 😊 Sleepless was soooo good! And just beautiful, I may need to buy a physical copy just so I can gaze at it 😄😍
Did you read any comics this month? What was your favorite? 😁
Happy November y'all! 🍁🦃
I quite enjoyed this volume, a beautiful and strong heroine of color, a beautiful rendered comic, with an intriguing premise, and some sizzling undercurrent. I want to read more...but sadly this is all Hoopla has at the moment. Drat!
Intrigue! Danger! (and) Romance! (do you now have spectacular spectacular stuck in your head? You‘re welcome 😊)
Still, the descriptors absolutely apply and I really enjoyed this graphic novel. I‘m definitely looking forward to the conclusion in volume 2. 😃
I finished this one on my trip too. It‘s good but I‘m in the fence about it. I felt a little bit like I was dropped into a story without a lot of context. There‘s magic and court intrigue so that‘s a plus The artwork is also beautiful. I liked it well enough to try volume two.
4/5 ⭐. The art and color alone make this worth picking up. I'm intrigued by the characters and political maneuverings. It's always great to see a female main character who takes the lead on her own fate. I'll admit Rellen's bracelet's ability is a bit convenient, but it depends on how that's developed further as the comic progresses. Volume 2 can't come out fast enough. #projectnew
Cute fairytale comic! I‘m looking forward to the next edition.
There are no words for hard I love this comic. I have been getting the single issues but had to get the trade too. It features a POC as the lead, so many relationships already built, palace intrigue, and assasination attempts. It is a short run that should be coming back soon (spent the summer off). Be prepared to throw it at the end. I totally did. That cliffhanger burns me so much. Just read this glorious comic, okay?
