I liked this book. not quite as much as the first one, but still enough to want to continue the series. I love the sarcastic tone and the comedy to the story. She only kills people who deserve it, like rapists and pedophiles. I like the way she frames other people for her crimes, but it seems like it is all going to fall apart on her soon. I did not like that she was pregnant. I liked the way the ending set up for new adventures.

Jut finished this on my lunch break - I really enjoyed Sweet Pea and this sequel was good too, funny, gory, crass but with a heart too. There could be room for another but actually I think the ending is a good end - that doesn‘t mean I‘m not sad that I won‘t hear more about Rhiannon!!

Reading this, the sequel to Sweet Pea, which I thought was brilliant and this line made me laugh out loud!!

I read the first in this series, Sweetpea - very dark humour, about a serial killer from the killer‘s POV. Looking forward to reading this one.

C.J.Skuse is a VERY BAD LADY. I have finished this and, can you believe, she has not had the basic good manners to write the third book in this trilogy yet? I am going to have to wait. Sulkily. Impatiently.
In Rhiannon, the author has created a damaged villain, a sarcastic observer, a scourge of - usually - the ones who deserve their fate.
Complex enough to toy with our feelings towards Rhiannon yet light enough for the humour to work!

Peterfox123 @cathysaid You can laugh, Madam but I‘m fuming here! 😉 6y
cathysaid @Peterfox123 That‘s a serious book hangover!! 6y

Peterfox123 @cathysaid Apparently CJ Skuse has sold the rights and there‘s going to be a TV series. *waits* 6y
Cathythoughts TV series 😳.... May be some toning down in order 🙈 6y

cathysaid @Peterfox123 @Cathythoughts Ok I‘m gonna have to read this series. 6y
Ms_T Great review, Foxy! I‘ll be using my next credit on this. 6y

I tweeted the author this morning to say, @CJSkuse I am thoroughly enjoying "In Bloom". I reckon if I met that Rhiannon, I‘d ruffle her hair and give her a jolly old pat on the bum. We‘d be best pals straight away. Bets ya!
Made my day when she replied "Sending thoughts and prayers to both your hands ?"

Oh this is a hilariously evil joy. Rhiannon? Well, she‘s still a proper little tinker. You just want to ruffle her hair and give her a big hug.
Her first appearance in "Sweetpea" was a revelation: BridgetJones meets American Psycho. This is book two and I am loving every sarcastic comment - some now supplied by her burgeoning baby.
I heart Rhiannon.
Thank you @Ms_T for pointing me at this! I hadn‘t spotted it.

Ms_T Glad you‘re enjoying it. I‘ll probably download it myself soon. 6y

Peterfox123 @RealBooks4ever It‘s a great book too. But have you read the first one, "Sweetpea"? 6y
RealBooks4ever @Peterfox123 No I haven't. Guess I'll be putting that one on my TBR! 😄 6y
Peterfox123 @RealBooks4ever ? Definitely read "Sweetpea" first. 6y

And finally, Sweetpea #2! I had to buy this immediately after I read this first one. I did like the first one better, but this one was good too. Just as snappy and vulgar. If you thought Baby Teeth was scary, this one‘s a whole other level. 😵

C J Skuse‘s sequel to SWEET PEA is another exuberant and fun black comedy thriller packed with vulgarity and horror and a pregnancy that‘s used to add further moral ambiguity and although the pacing slows at times and Rhiannon is helped by some convenient allies, there‘s an interesting subplot involving a pregnant woman in an abusive relationship and the novel ends with a great set-up for the final book, which I will definitely be reading.

I have mixed feelings about this book. The first one was shocking however this one took you on a much more emotional journey. It‘s a great read though, very honest and sometimes brutal.
