Fantastic! I loved this book - I feel seen as a bibliomaniac!

"Mad dogs and Englishmen...", so I've moved my reading table into a shady spot.
I'm feeling guilty about being home and not at work with my clients, reminding myself that I'm "allowed" to be ill, and of the many conversations I've had with others about self-acceptance and self-care, reflecting on how hard that can be to practice for myself, and noticing my inner critic telling me I'm an attention-seeker for even posting this! ?
"Whereas a collector frets obsessively about the books he does not yet possess, the fanatical reader worries about no longer owning those books - traces of his past or hopes for the future - which he has read once and may read again some day."
Looks like I fall into the "fanatical reader" camp, then ??
Bonnet has also given me pause to reflect on the distinction between "bibliophile" and "bibliomaniac" ?
This sounds fun, and has good feels from other Littens.
Bonnet has 40,000 books and crams thoughts on some of them into this little book. Hmmm, maybe he has 40,001 now he's written this 🤔📚📚

That was a mouthful!!

Sigh... time to fill me up! 📚📚📚📚👍
This book about books is translated from the French. The (French) author's bookish musings is generally good reading, but of the titles he mentioned I added just one to my TBR list (tagged in comments). I liked his thoughts on art history books and exhibition catalogs. This guy has 40,000 books in his personal library 😱! I'd love to have seen pics of his collection in this volume.
Nailed it 📚📚📚!
I like this quote by Julian 👍. Ancient Roman emperor. Just getting started on this little book about books 📚 📚 📚
#TBRtemptation post 4! This one is for all of you book collectors, librarians, and book treasurers out there! This memoir focuses on what to do with what you've got when what you've got seems daunting. & JB would know, he has a large house with thousands of books in it! He looks at the collectors' habits, organizing and cataloging techniques to help you feel less overwhelmed, & he touches on his faves too. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
I have posted many of my shelves before and my library shelves are often in the background of pics, so here is the bookshelf in my dining room which was originally intended for overflow. I am now in need of another shelf for overflow of the overflow. I #blameitonLitsy. #shelfie #funfridayphoto
This reminds me of all the discussions in my library science classes about the future of books and libraries. The Internet is great, but there's something about the visceral feelings that reading a physical book give you that just aren't going to be replaced anytime soon.
On to my next book for #readathon. Apparently I'm in a meta mood.
