Mad About Plaid! Gotta go for a Scottish romance.
Mairin is the illegitimate daughter of the king & on the run. She ends up at the McCabe family's keep & thrust into marriage with eldest brother Ewan. Compared to her former potential mate, this alpha male is a catch, what with all his talk of possession, obedience & all that other misogyny. He's not a bad guy, but he has some growing to do. Mairin gets put into a lot of peril & this is one of the least romantic "maiden voyages" I can recall.
It wasn‘t terrible but I‘m finding that the historical fiction written by Maya Banks just doesn‘t do it for me. This is the second one I‘ve listened to that I‘ve found to be so-so. Maybe it‘s just me.
This is the first historical romance I have read and I absolutely loved it! I this story is about highlander Ewan and Mairin as they fall head over heels for each other. #romance #historicalromance
Thank you @ErinSueG for doing this #sickdaygiveaway I hope you are feeling better!
I loved this series and I couldn't pick just one cover because I feel that they are all equally in their cheesiness level!
And if you ever want to see the weirdest book cover I have ever seen in my life, you should look up West of January by Dave Duncan! Why just why?!? I have never read it, but now I sort of want to just to see what the book is about! 👇👇👇
TW: rape Just say no to having you hero rape your heroine just after the predictably quick marriage.
Starting my first highlander romance! 😍#historicalromance #romantsy #currentlyreading
2017 #123 Scottish flavored porn audio one this is probably the cheesiest 'historical' romance I've read since middle school when my friends and I would pass around a copy of something similar and dog ear the naughty bits. Although we never read about giant penises and gspots. Was in the mood for fluff and this just didn't satisfy. Oh, and it's read by an American trying very hard to be something akin to Scottish.
I'm reminded why I don't typically read "light" romances - too cutesie for me. Take a naive virgin hiding away and make her someone important so when she's discovered it's a race to the altar. I don't know, it wasn't badly written and there's funny and touching moments but too many neatly tied ribbons and bows for me...apparently I'm on a Romance/Erotica binge
Loved it. I was pulled into the story immediately. 👍💝😍 #inbedwithahighlander #McCabetrilogy #historicalromance #erotica #beautifulcover #lovedit #romantsy
"Slow down, my lady. You're going to injure yourself!" "Not myself," she muttered. "Your laird, more likely."
"You don't kiss the correct way"
For #24in48 I finished up the last 150 pages of this one, and oh my god what an exciting finish. Lots of intrigue and sword fights and burly warriors to contend with while the hero and heroine fell in love. I just loved Mairin's take no prisoners attitude. She's a well drawn tough but caring character that was easy to root for. Can't wait to look up the other two books in the series to get the rest of the McCabe story.
