🎧 They had me at traumatic hand amputation & went from there.

Rachel has an accident where her left hand is mashed & ultimately amputated at the beginning of the book.

Her and her newlywed Husband work through the aftermath. Then she starts feeling things with her missing hand and hearing things.

There are 3 myths about the body of a dead woman wound in a hollow tree & each myth is fully explored.

I enjoyed the book & liked Rachel.

I picked these up from the library today. I need to finish my current reads before I touch any of them, though. I'm also saving them for the #readathon

Car service reading time!

They now have these activity books here (clearly for little kids) and I‘ve been strongly resisting coloring one. However, someone did leave this car model behind from their activity book and I took this picture on the sly so nobody would think I was weird. Not sure I would have gone with a white car with orange stripes 🤔

Been meaning to try this author for a while. Was definitely not disappointed with this book. Totally hooked me and was not what I expected. I really didn‘t see where it was going at points, and it was quite unique.

“‘You were having a nightmare. It sounded like someone was trying to kill you.‘

‘A one-off? Hon, the last few nights it‘s been like sharing a bed with an epileptic octopus, and it‘s getting worse.‘

I‘m about a third of the way through and enjoying it. After a tragic accident, the life of a woman is inexorably intertwined with another beyond the grave. It is developing into quite the ghost story and I can‘t wait to see how everything is connected....👇

I picked this up because of the beautiful cover and I wanted to know who danced with Mary before she died. Then I read the back and got The Corpse Bride vibes and immediately checked it out. Rachel lost her hand in an accident and can now see into the land of the dead. She accidentally pulls Oak Mary out of a tree and things come hunting them. Loved it!

I‘m such a sucker for a good cover 💚

Political garbage aside, I genuinely love Twitter. How often do you get to interact with writers of books you love immediately?!

That being said, this book is true spectacular. I couldn‘t put it down, it was woven so well and beautifully. Pick it up!

From my wonderful week:
-made it through a snowstorm without snow tires- not fun!
-saw Hamilton FINALLY! After years of trying to get tickets
-blew my budget at Powell‘s
-first big holiday ever with my niece
-started house hunting! (AHHH ADULTING)
-spread Gramps and Grams ashes in their forest together like they wished

So many awesome things happened this week. My heart hasn‘t been this full in months. homebound & driving by my favorite mountain
