19 posts | 23 read | 23 to read

I love reading about Vianne in the autumn, and this book was no different. Whilst it wasn't all that much about Vianne as it was about Lansquenet dealing with changes and internal conflict, I enjoyed the story for what it was and the lovely descriptions of food and magic. I think it's very neat to see the changes Vianne and the others are going through during this series, and I would love to read more about them.

I spotted this book in a telephone box book exchange today. It was one I had released on a pub bookshelf over two years ago. http://www.bookcrossing.com/journal/13862963

After so many murder mysteries, I needed to mix it up a bit ?
.
In the third book in the "Chocolat" series, Vianne returns to Lansquenet to find that things have changed in her absence, and she's called upon to work her magic once again. This book is full of vibrantly delicious images, and is simply delightful!

I missed out #fruit in #maybookflowers yesterday! How could I*. Anyway, this is the third Chocolat book and I enjoyed it because Vianne is back in Lansquenet.

* Answer: because I spent all day looking at forward planning stuff for Tuesday and got my days confused.

I don't have any peach coloured books but I do have one with peaches on the cover! I went to a talk held by Joanne Harris and she signed this book afterwards. It's a topical story concerning the issue of immigration and once again features Vianne from Chocolat. #augustofpages #bookphotochallenge

TheSpinecrackersBookClub Well peaches on the cover definitely work. I think it's even more difficult to find than peach coloured books. 8y
readinginthedark I still need to read Chocolat! Is it anything like the movie? 8y
ScorpioBookDreams @readinginthedark it's quite a bit darker than the film and no happy ending! 8y
mhillis Wow!! That's amazing! This was my favorite book in the series. 8y

Another great summer read and one that is totally relevant to today's current climate of fear mongering when it comes to immigrants. Again, we have a story of outcasts who are being ostracised by society. How they cope is at once very familiar and insightful.
