Everybody's favorite thriller book club is back and this time we have two authors for the price of one. This one was more unnerving, scary, and tense than what I was expecting. Definitely, a first rate thriller. We go through our favorite aspects of the book and some of the things that didn't ultimately work. And finally, we go through the prop bets. Enjoy!

I didn‘t realize that the supernatural was going to be a theme in all of the Pendergast novels. The storyline here requires a serious suspension of disbelief, but the audiobook makes up for it. Pendergast, in the voice of the narrator, sounds like Daniel Craig in Knives Out. It‘s delightful. Five stars for the Foghorn Leghorn impression, two stars for the ludicrous plot - still a pick. My #doublespin for June.
New episode is up over on Patreon! We both sheepishly admit that we enjoyed The Notebook and we select a new Thriller Corner book to read. Subscriptions start as low as 3 bucks a month and new Patrons get a coffee mug and bookmarks!

Such a strenuous read. Lots of exorbitant detail. IMO, Pendergast is a character beyond belief. Maybe, he‘s a what people would call an antihero. Cause goodness he‘s unbearable.
The 3rd in the Pendergast series and one of my favorites. In this one Pendergast, Nora and Smithback investigate an old serial killer after a pit of human remains are found. And then the killings seem to start up again.

The 3rd book in the ‘series‘ featuring Agent Pendergast. This book was good, and strange, but in a good way. You get to know a lot more about Pendergast in this book. I liked the story in this one better too; didn‘t have the Jurassic Park feel even though it still featured the museum. I don‘t want to give anything away, but you‘ll walk away with a much better understanding of how Pendergast is able to do what he does, seem as he seems.
My first Preston & Child book...read because I had heard good things about it. A little far fetched storyline but good all in all.
Another great Pendergast novel. This one might be my favorite so far. It definitely keeps you guessing as you‘re trying to solve the mystery along with the characters.

I‘ve been sick with a cold for a few days. Perfect excuse to lie down and read all day.
Almost halfway through, lounging in my front room, wanting to just sit here all night!
When you travel into Charlotte for a race expo, you cross the street and read a book at Amelie's!
Loving that round number!
Volunteering at the book store and I'm on book 7 for 2019! This is the first one that I'm not reading specifically for the #popsugarchallenge although I'll see if it works for any of the categories when I'm done! #pendergastseries
Question: has anyone heard of app called Otto Radio?? Anyone like it?? It‘s supposed to be like audibles.com. I signed up for the trial and found out it‘s unlimited audio books per month. Thought I‘d pass this on just in case anyone was interested.

Well, actually, what men - can't decide. The different Sherlocks and Dr Watsons (#Besties), Agent Pendergast (strange, I know, still have a tiny crush on him), the Honorable Revelstoje Templeton-Vain (better known as "Stoker" - #Besties with Veronica?), Jamie Fraser, Mr Darcy,...

#LocalAuthor Lincoln Child is from my home state and is the co-author of one of my favorite series featuring Agent Pendergast. #aprilbookshowers
#feistyfeb Day 2 The figures on these covers cast #shadows. Both are books I loved and are completely different. 🙂
One down, three more to go. It was a fun diversion while doing housework and cell culture, but the science was so cringe-inducingly bad, I found myself muttering at my phone several times to correct the more egregious errors. Luckily, my labmates already know I'm kind of strange, and my cats don't care. 😋
#octphotochallenge #madscientist I know I just posted the Pendergast novels yesterday, so maybe that's why Dr Leng came to mind so quickly, but he is definitely who I think of for this category. What a creepy guy.
Ok Goodreads Hooked on Books weekend read-a-thon this weekend ... It's supposed to be cool and rainy here in Seattle... So the perfect weekend for reading ☕️📚🤓
Just read this for the second time - first time was almost six years ago in grad school. Wonderful, atmospheric story. I remember first reading these authors, not knowing what to expect and thinking "whoa" once I realized there were paranormal elements. Highly recommended.
