this book is very fun. Silverstein‘s drawings are whimsical and eye catching.

I‘d like to include this whole poem as a quote just because it‘s a play on words because it‘s kind of like reading things is hypnotizing you because it‘s all you‘re thinking about is what you‘re reading. Oh, this is a really great poem and made you think after you‘re done reading it.

My dad and I always read the Shell Silverstein poem books, and I always loved the pictures. They were so odd and interesting you couldn‘t keep your eyes off them. But like his poems, they are quite odd. They go perfectly along with the picture.

The classic following up by shell Silverstein is a collection of poems necessarily go together. He has a little rhyming words which we can be confusing for kids because when kids think of poems, I think a rhyming words.

The he'll wipe off his lips with the sails of your ship, And making a buripty noise, He'll slither away - but hey that's okay, You don't have to pick up your toys.

This is a book I read when I was a kid and it was fun to read back through some of the poems I enjoyed when I was a kid and still enjoy now.

Falling Up is filled with poems written by Shel Silverstein. The book is filled with 144 poems all by Silverstein along with drawings by Silverstein. Great book to introduce students to poetry.

Published in 1996, is the perfect story to introduce poems to children. It‘s a book an adult would have to read aloud but it‘s a bunch of wacky poems and will show how fun poems can be

This book is a collection of poetry written by Shel Silverstein. (I did my author study on him) I love his writing style as well as his silly illustrations so this one was definitely fun for me to read through. It won the Booklist Editors award in 1996. I grabbed this volume at random, but I should have gone with the earlier ones. Most of these poems missed the mark for me, but I remember enjoying a lot as a kid (which would have been Where the Sidewalk Ends and A Light in the Attic).

This puts me at 1157/1000 pages for #JoysofJune and I‘m thrilled to say I met all my goals! Thanks for a good readathon @Andrew65

This book is a funny & engaging way for students to get into P! These poems use humor & a great example of poetry for all ages. I would incorporate Silversteins poems during a RA or AS. He is an interesting character. The UDL strategy 1.3 to incorporate pictures & visuals to represent poems. ESOL strategy 14 to RA clear & at a slow pace. Also 5.2 with graphic organizes from the resources provided.

This book is great for a classroom because there is such a variety of poems for kids to enjoy

Falling Up: Poems and Drawings by Shel Silverstein is another great book that contains lots of interesting poems for kids to read. Each poem has different meanings that there are a variety of ones that kids will love. I really enjoyed reading some of the poems in this book and think this would be great in a variety of classrooms.

Most of these poems are cute and funny and are perfect for 1st to 5th-grade poetry

This poetry book has poems for everyone. They all have differing rhythms and flows but they all sound wonderful. The illustrations complement each and every poem in the book.

This book is good for 2nd and 3rd graders. These grades would love a book like this while learning poetry. These books show lots of different materials with funny stories. These grades will be able to read these on their own with only a little help.

This is a poetry book. This is a great book for kids to read in class. This book uses lots of rhythms to make the book exciting. Each page is different but the poems all have a rhyme.

“He did the polka, he did a twist”

My favorite poem from the boom was a poem called Danny O‘dare! It was about a bear that escaped from the fair and did all sorts of dancing!

I liked this book! It was cool how much the poems varied in type, length, topic, etc! I think it‘d be a great book to have in a classroom because there are so many different story‘s

This was a really good collection, I have never explored this one before and it‘s just as amazing as his others!

Falling Up is a collection of poems by Shel Silverstein. It was published in 1996. This collection of poems is amazing there are so many great examples of rhyme and rhythm and so many other elements of poetry. I like that all the poems are so random, they give a nice range of purposes. I really enjoy Shell‘s illustrations as well.

“Happy Birthday, Dragon Don. And watch him blow the candles...on.“

All of Shel Silverstein's books were so nostalgic to me. I loved hearing that they were in the library and I can't wait to share these stories with the children in my classroom. I don't just think these stories are a classroom pick, I think that they are a staple for the classroom.

This 1996 collection of poems each tells a different story. They are all rhyming and have such a great rhythm. They are all very short poems but each one has such charming humor. I think that kids and adults alike would love these poems. They were short and succinct.

My mom dropped off my shel Silverstein books from when I was a kid 👏 where the sidewalk ends is missing its sleeve but I love these 💕 hopefully my kids enjoy them as much as I did
