#SummerFun - Read Visually - Comic & Pride Month

This was extremely interesting. A mixture of sci-fi, badass woman, ass-kicking, queer relationship, and mystery. I got this off of Book Riot‘s LGBTQ Pride Comics and Graphic Novels. I‘m definitely planning to check out Volume 2 as this one ended in a bit of a mystery.

Overall this was an interesting start to the series. I had lots of questions with some of them answered and others are hopefully going to be answered in subsequent volumes. Motor crush is sci-fi with a female protagonist who is lgbt and poc.

Wow!!!

I was expecting racing, lesbians and great art. And I definitely got all of that haha! But what I didn‘t expect was this crazy amazing plot!!

Lightning McQueen aint got nothing on Domino 😂✨✨

Weird...but there's nothing wrong with that. LOL Beautiful art as well.

I don‘t love Brenden Fletcher‘s writing, going back to his Batgirl run - it is too frenetic and restless for me, typically. But, as ever, he is saved by artist Babs Tarr, who has a killer alt-design sense and an energy to her art that keeps Fletcher‘s sometimes iffy scripts moving. This is the Babs Tarr show, through and through.

A really really awesome comic, the pages with Lola especially have especially cool palettes, and a whole lot of neon besides. I just love the artistry (but for some reason all the women have teeny waists and its just unsettling, more than anything else.)

GAY BIKER COMING OF AGE STORY. Is basically what this comic is. And I'm obsessed. Babs Tarr is the artist and her art is sooooooooo beautiful 😭😭😭

Whoa! Cool world building! I really dug this, but guys.. the next issues isn't out until the 29th. I've never read a comic so recent I had to wait on new issues 😩

1. In the home stretch of audiobook #1, Modern Romance.
2. Two graphic novels.
3. The tagged.
4. GOD, SO MANY. Like people demanding I WORK. While AT MY JOB. Imagine!
5. I could easily fill this 24 hours with the stack of partially finished books on my bedside table, and kind of want to. Maybe there should be a #readathon just for that purpose?

Ahhh! Book #7 for #readathon is volume 1 of a #comic called Motor Crush. Domino Swift is a professional motorcycle racer who secretly races/brawls at night for an illegal motor stimulant. But instead of using it in her engine, she needs to inhale it to survive. She's trying to manage her career, her gathering of the substance, her hidden past, and a mysterious stranger. Fast paced, action packed, high octane fun!! #weneeddiversebooks

Got through this BEAUTIFUL graphic novel this weekend. It literally had everything I've ever wanted from sci-fi: badass ladies, action, a protagonist with a ~mysterious~ origin story, and a 💯 love interest (seriously, Lola is the bomb dot com). Can't decide if I want to wait to buy volume 2 or buy the next set as issues but serious, Image comics has been knocking it outta the park these days 🔥🔥🔥 #weekendreads #sundayreview

This comic is amazing! The creators have created such an interesting futuristic world with great characters and an awesome story. I also appreciate that the protagonist is a queer woman of color. The story is fast paced and the art matches it perfectly. One of the best comics to come out this year.
