Black Dahlia Avenger Rev Ed
Black Dahlia Avenger Rev Ed: A Genius for Murder | Steve Hodel
In 1947, California's infamous Black Dahlia murder inspired the largest manhunt in Los Angeles history. Despite an unprecedented allocation of money and manpower, police investigators failed to identify the psychopath responsible for the sadistic murder and mutilation of beautiful twenty-two-year-old Elizabeth Short. Decades later, former LAPD homicide detective-turned-private investigator Steve Hodel launched his own investigation into the grisly unsolved crime -- and it led him to a shockingly unexpected perpetrator: Hodel's own father. A spellbinding tour de force of true-crime writing, this newly revised edition includes never-before-published forensic evidence, photos, and previously unreleased documents, definitively closing the case that has often been called "the most notorious unsolved murder of the twentieth century."

Our true crime book club meets Sunday & I am barely halfway through the book. I think the audiobook just isn't working for me on this one. Time to switch it up. I couldn't get a physical copy in time but thankfully Everand has the ebook available. Don't mind me while I read at work.

My #scarathon2020 TBR pile. I'm also including the tagged book. It's an ebook so I didn't add it to the physical pile. A few of the books overlap with my #screamathon TBR pile, which seems handy.

I also plan on participating in #Sbooktober, but I'll probably only post on litsy since I do very little on Instagram.

I forgot to add Halloween Party by Agatha Cristie

Clwojick I really enjoyed The Sundown Motel, and I've been meaning to read Hallowe'en Party too! Also, that stuffy is adorable. ☠ 4y
Patchshank @Clwojick I've heard nothing but good things about The Sun Down Motel. I'm really excited to read it. I bought the stuffy at a gas station a few years ago. I recently found him in a box while moving. The tag says his name is Grinner and his birthday is October 4th. 4y
BehindthePages Loved Ninth House! I just read it last month! 4y
GidgetsTreasures75 I really enjoyed Ninth House and The Sun Down Motel!! 4y

Good grief this was long winded. Hodel provides a lot of circumstantial evidence that his dad is the black dahlia killer, but claims all the evidence is irrefutable. 🤷‍♀️ Also, he thinks very highly of himself. I say if you‘re interesting, read maybe the first half, then chapter 33, which is a summary of the whole book. Otherwise, pass.

• 2nd long day at work and I‘m struggling to stay awake during my nightly relaxation time. However, this book is getting BONKERS crazy and is doing a decent job of keeping me interested in something other than my pillow...😲 •
