Today's reading
I'm sure it has great literary value but like so many French books translated into English it made my eyes bleed.
Some of my favorites.
Apparently the title #thejeangenie was an allusion to this author. Never heard of him but suppose I should check him out. Love that about Bowie! #septembowie
Thinking about #JeanGenie made me think of Jean Genet. This is sort of a fictionalised autobiography of Genet's life as a petty thief, a vagabond, and an outlaw in the truest sense of the word. His desire for men that was strangely generous and life-affirming in its variety. Lyrical prose and a sensibility that cannot be categorised. I really loved this bizarre, perplexing, dreamy book. #SeptemBowie @Marchpane @Cinfhen
In looking for ideas for this one, I decided to celebrate how incredible talented Bowie was. The image is from the live performance of the song in 2003 in Bercy France. The iconic harmonica of the song. #septemBOWIE
