Similarly to the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, this book series is also written in a diary style and targets middle school age children. This series shows children to embrace themselves even if it may seem like they're not โ€œfitting in.โ€œ

This story follows the life of a girl, Nikki Maxwell, as she's learning how to navigate middle school with drama, crushes, and awkward moments. Written in dairy format, and with cute illustrations, children will find it very relatable and entertaining. Nikki's journey of friendship and self discovery will make it a fun read for young children.

I loved this book! One of the first books I remember reading in elementary school, and definitely a book I want to have for students in read in my classroom because it tells a great story!

Just finished this with my oldest niece as a bedtime story. It is very cute and quirky. I chuckled along to this YA humor that I remember relating to. Super cute for young girls who don‘t feel like they fit in at a new school. Nikki makes friends and shows off her art all while trying to avoid her embarrassment with her parents, sister, and all over dorky ness.

Day 25: #laughter
So this time I asked my daughter for the prompt. She said this book and the many others that come in the series keep her laughing all the time and it‘s why this and Diary of a Wimpy Kid are her two fav series! I haven‘t read them@but I have seen her get excited for them and laugh like crazy so I can only assume they are funny haha.

An adorable Trick-or-Treater just saw one of my walls of bookish art and totally nerded out. Her favorite books are the Dork Diaries series, which she insisted I HAVE to read! Of course I gave her extra candy... ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿ“š

LibrarianRyan I agree. Read dork diaries. They are cute. My first trick or treaters were older than I was planning based on last year so I had to hand out YA books I already read. ๐Ÿ˜ 6y
GondorGirl @LibrarianRyan I want to trick or treat at your house! 6y
LibrarianRyan @GondorGirl I had 4. 9, 11, 13, and 14. I had to run back inside to grab some teen books. I grabbed from my already read but not put away pile. One got The Cheerleaders, and the other an Amanda Hocking I had doubles of. 6y

Dorky things I say to the hubby: "I need a headlamp since it gets dark at like 4 now and I need to be able to see when I'm outside walking and listening to my audiobooks."

BookishFeminist ๐Ÿ˜‚ My mom has one! 8y
britt_brooke Husband uses one for running sometimes! I always make fun of him, but it really is a good idea. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‰ 8y

Dolly I needed a headlamp I didn't own in a power outage. It took one of those battery operated press on lights and stuck it to a belt fastened around my head. Voilà! ? 8y
Amandajoy I run with one & my bestie uses it instead of a book light to read by when they go camping. Headlamps are very versatile. 8y
BillBlume Dammit, Moon Moon. 8y
Lindy Headlamps are also useful when cooking in a fireplace in a home with no electricity because the pot blocks the light from the fire. 8y
LauraBeth @BookishFeminist ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ 8y
LauraBeth @britt_brooke I have never thought about it before and I've been running for years (I'm recovering from a torn meniscus though so need to walk for a while). I would wear a reflective vest while running at night so cars could see me but apparently, I never cared to see where I was going ๐Ÿ˜€ 8y
LauraBeth @LeahBergen well of course she gets one! ๐Ÿถ 8y
LauraBeth @dolly that's brilliant! ๐Ÿ˜€ 8y
LauraBeth @Amandajoy totally versatile! Which kind do you run with (since I'll probably be running with it also after my knee recovers)? 8y
LauraBeth @BillBlume ๐ŸŒœ๐ŸŒ› 8y
LauraBeth @Lindy I just watched a series on Netflix called Pioneer Days where two couples had to live in Canada like it was the 1870s - this is what this sounds like ๐Ÿ˜€ 8y
Amandajoy I picked the one that was had the most lumens & was on sale. 8y
Lindy @LauraBeth When I worked on a farm in the mountains of southern Spain in January & February 2002, a fireplace was used for all cooking and heat. I thought I was prepared for rugged life, but I was wrong! 8y
Cortg We have several headlamps in our household and they're used quite often. I'm also asking for a new fanny pack for Christmas so I can keep my phone and keys while I walk and listen to my audiobooks. My kids are appalled by my fanny pack but I remind them if it's cool enough for Matthew McConaughey, it's cool enough for me! 8y
LauraBeth @lindy I'll be first in line to buy your memoir ๐Ÿ˜€ 8y
LauraBeth @Cortg ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I've been wanting a flip belt forever 8y
LauraBeth @Amandajoy you had me at sale ๐Ÿ˜€ 8y
