#4star #4stars #bookreview #melindaleigh
The Morgan Dane series should be on the TBR shelves of any reader who wants a page-turning suspenseful series. Melinda Leigh writes main characters that are likeable, and stellar secondary characters. The series should be read in order. While the story-line are suspenseful and action packed, it's the characters that keep the pages turning.
Wow what a month! I read 46 books! A record for me and a great way to end summer vacation. I will share my audio and ebooks next post.
Some stats.
• 8 TBR
• 34 library books
• 26 audiobooks
• 7 ebooks
• 11 graphic novels
• 4 rereads
From this pile, I‘m liking Melinda Leigh who my friend suggested. This month was thrillers but you‘ll see my reading change back to more middle grade next month! ❤️
See any faves on this pile?
A tense romantic thriller. Lawyer Morgan Dane decides to defend a a killer who she knows is innocent.
First time reading this author #MelindaLeigh, so far it‘s keeping me turning those pages. I‘m a happy girl. 😝
Free with amazon prime. Just what I needed today! Liked the characters and plot
Fell in love with the characters and Melinda Leigh! Gives me the perfect balance of all my favorite genres! There‘s romance and mystery all in one book! 💜💜
Say You‘re Sorry definitely caught my attention from the beginning, and while I had my predictions as how it would all end, I certainly enjoyed the ride.
Highly likable main character Morgan Dane, is determined to prove her young neighbor‘s innocence when a teenage girl is murdered... even when everyone else is determined to prove his guilt.
Loved the different perspectives speckled in, and appreciated the legal/crime aspect!
I surprisingly liked this book a lot. The characters were likable, and I didn't have the plot figured out immediately. I was about 90% through the book before I figured it out, and I think that's pretty much when the author intended for you to start putting the pieces together, so that's good. There were a few editing issues that keep this from being a five star book for me, but they weren't so horrendous that it was distracting. 4 out of 5 stars.
I'm here trying to read this book while Chance whimpers and stare outside. We haven't been able to go out and run for two days due to the rain. (Runners for life 🐕🏃♀️)
A quality legal thriller. Well, not so much legal, but it did feature a lawyer. More like a thriller murder mystery with a detective and amateur detective. Whatever genre you‘d call it, its pretty good.
I listened to the first three of this series and am patiently waiting for more. I loved all three books. They are fantastic. I love the story line. I love the characters. If you‘re a fan of mystery/thriller/slight romance then this series is for you!!
Just starting. Have been wanting to read some of Melinda‘s books.
Loved it, going to read more.
This is the 1st book in this Series. Morgan Dane is a former prosecutor. After two years of grieving for her husband and staying home with their 3 kids, she accepts a job with the DA of Scarlet Falls. Her babysitter is murdered and her neighbor is accused of the crime. Even before she starts her new job, she quits to defend him. Is she wrong about him? Who really killed Tessa? Will there be romance with her old boyfriend, Lance?
I discovered Melinda Leigh last yr when I requested a book from NetGalley. It was the last of a series but also a respectable stand alone. I read it and loved it. I went straight on the read the previous 2. Loved them!
I have just read Say You're Sorry and now have the next 2 to read.
Such easy reading, crime, sometimes not very pleasant, a bit of romance and a lot of action.
Great books.
4 Stars for the very strong start, suspenseful storytelling, plenty of bad guys to keep you guessing, and likable characters that I'd like to read more about.
3.5 stars for an ending that seemed rushed. And please get Morgan some bubblewrap, knee pads, and a bodyguard. She gets wounded or stumbles into a life-threatening situation every other chapter. While I am a klutz myself, it seems a bit unbelievable.
It was pretty solid... it got a bit romancy here and there, which is not my gig, but it didn‘t go too far with it. The mystery was well done, and it was refreshing to not guess it in the first 1/4 of the book.
Wow! I really enjoyed this book! Good action and character development. The 2nd in this series comes out on the 26th, can't wait to see what happens with Morgan and Lance next! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍🏻
This is fun!
"I feel so out of touch. What happened?" ??

I listened to this audiobook as I returned from my mom's house today. She is on the mend from her hip replacement. Thank you to everyone who sent positive thoughts! This book was good but not great. I was interested in listening, but at times the wording was not great. The story was intriguing, but there were too many storylines. It could have been tightened up.
This one was like a grisly version of On The Street Where You Live, by Mary Higgins Clark.
This was okay. I liked the characters and story line. It definitely started out strong, but I found it to be a bit predictable and drawn out in parts. Overall, I liked it and it kept my interest.
