My favorite book in March is one about an aging couple in Norway who live peacefully together after their daughters move out. A sad and poignant book.

All of these I read while traveling across Morocco. All were really good! Tomorrow I am flying home again, it‘s been a great week!
Thanks for bringing this book to my attention @cariashley , what a wonderful read. And so sad. An aging couple in Norway live peacefully together after their daughters move out. The husband turns silent, giving the wife much time to think about all the things left unsaid - and their consequences. A sad and poignant book. Highly recommended!

A quiet, introspective novel with a LOT going on between the lines. All about the traumas of our past and how we choose to share these with our loved ones (or not). Beautifully written and translated from the Norwegian. I‘m very happy to have gotten this in my Strand subscription box as I never would have come across it otherwise. It would make an amazing movie.
Thanks to #PercyCat for being a sturdy book prop!
A middle aged woman is looking back on her marriage and her family life. In doing so she looks back on the big decisions that influenced her life, her husband‘s life and their children‘s life.
I listened to the audio that was narrated by the author herself and I loved it. Will definitely listen to more of her books.

#TBRtemptation post 3! Eva & Simon have spent most of their adult lives together, he's a physician & she's a teacher. They have 3 grown daughters & a comfortable home. Their painful pasts--secret from even their children--bind them as much as their affection and solidarity. With the housekeeper's abrupt dismissal and Simon's increasing withdrawal, those secrets may come out--about war, survival, and prejudices. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
