Challenge 21 of 50: A book set in a city that has hosted the Olympics
Almost through the Mary Russell Novels for my popsugar challenges. I have seriously listened to/read an unreal number of these this year. 😂 😅

It‘s been less than a year since I first read this series, so I do not know why they are all I want to listen to now. But they are so comforting that I find myself continuing with the series.
Also, having just came from the end of the series it‘s amazing how much Mary‘s voice has changed in the course of 15 novels.

Book 48 of the year, finished July 26, audio
I loved this book. Loved loved loved it.
LLOOOOOVVVVEEED. IIIIIITTTT.
Its starting to shift from a Holmes story to a Mary Russell story. I love the setting. I love the character growth. I love a well written first person story told by a female character (bonus that I too am nearly 6 feet tall so I can absolutely relate to her clothing fit issues). I'm super excited for the 3rd book.
Potential spoiler: I‘m not sure how I feel about the relationship developments, we‘ll have to see how it further develops and what it does to the story. #audiobook
Finished this one last night and was a little surprised by the ending. I love this take on the beloved Sherlock Holmes novels. I love Mary and this was the first audio book I listened to from start to finish in quite some time. The narrator really brings the story to life. Started the next Mary Russell novel last night before bed.
Started listening to this lovely while doing housework today. Going to try to just listen to this one & see how it goes. Hoping to get better at listening to books this year
I have 3 digital books on hold at the library... All with approx 6 weeks as my waiting time... So I'll wake up one morning in about 6 weeks to have 3 new books on my kindle to read 😁... Guess I should clear my calendar lol😸
Not quite as good as The Beekeeper‘s Apprentice (which I adored) but still very enjoyable. One of the subplots seemed a bit unnecessarily out there, but luckily it was a minor part.
I‘ve read the first two book of the series within two weeks, and it is highly unusual for me to read sequential books in a series so quickly. Mary Russell is a great character!💪
Side note: This edition has several editing errors which drove me crazy.😡
Interesting subject matter especially in the current political climate.
I loved everything about this except the romance. It just made me squirm, I just couldn't get behind it as much as I adore them both. Otherwise I loved the mystery and how independent Mary was, and how she tackled the problem. The audio book was excellent, the narrator as before was perfect and did some excellent voice work.
A very fun read and interesting little mystery. This is book #2 of the series... I enjoyed it, but in not sure I liked it enough to commit to reading more of the series
A bit of reading before bed ... Life is good
The second installment of Mary Russell's adventures with Sherlock Holmes focuses on a charismatic female preacher and her feminist church/social movement. Mary's theological training comes into use, & she is more on her own here. The relationship talk bothered me for a slew of reasons, though.
