How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind
How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind: Dealing with Your House's Dirty Little Secrets | Dana K. White
Bring your home out of the mess it's in and learn how to keep it under control. "The dirty little secret about most organizing advice is that it's written by organized people," says blogger, speaker, and decluttering expert Dana K. White. "But that's not how my brain works. I'm lost on page three." Dana blogs at A Slob Comes Clean, chronicling her successes and failures with her self-described "deslobification process." In the beginning she used the name "Nony" (short for aNONYmous), because she was sharing her deep, dark, slob secret. Now she has truly come clean--with not only her real name but the strategies she has developed, tested, and proved in her own home. She has learned what it takes to bring a home out of Disaster Status, which habits make the biggest and most lasting impact, and how to keep clutter under control. In How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind, Dana explains that cleaning your house is not a onetime project but a series of ongoing premade decisions. Her reality-based cleaning and organizing techniques debunk the biggest housekeeping fantasies and help readers learn what really works. Chapter titles include My First Step: Giving Up on the Fantasy The Worst Thing About the Best Way Just Tell Me What to Do Conquering Laundry Get Dinner on the Table Putting an End to the Never-Ending Weekly Cleaning Tasks Don't Get Organized How to Declutter Without Making a Bigger Mess Fighting the Perceived Value Battle But Will It Last? With a huge helping of empathy and humor, Dana provides a step-by-step process with strategies for getting rid of enormous amounts of stuff in as little time (and with as little emotional drama) as possible.

I had the sample book on this over the weekend. It was priced at $4.99 kindle ... Today I went to grab the entire.book and it‘s on sale today for &1.99!!! Whoohoo! If clutter & house chores kick you in the back side - check out this book. First time I‘ve read something on this topic where I‘ve really connected and thought “omg she gets it!” Truly transformative for me and my approach to my household chores & management!

I have the all access pass to the Get Organized 2020 by Laura with iheartplanners ... First class I heard was by Dana White & it has already totally changed my approach & outlook to some tasks I have ahead! I grabbed this book on my Kindle and it‘s like she‘s been spying on me.

Crazeedi I probably have way too much clutter and dust to ever organize!! 4y
MelAnn @Crazeedi that‘s one thing Dana discusses - declutter and organize are two different things. She‘s got some great ideas. She changed my entire mental approach to it! 4y

This book was immensely helpful to me. Dana‘s “slob brain” is wired exactly like mine, and I‘ve already been putting into practice her methods and found them working for me. As she repeats, this is not a book for Tidy people who enjoy cleaning and organizing. This book is for the messies who feel overwhelmed really quickly. 5 stars for how much it‘s helped me. (The audio is fab!) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟

So let me just say that this book wasn't meant for me. I'm not a neat freak by any stretch of the imagination but this book made me feel like one after three chapters. I didn't need it to tell me to wash my dishes everyday or throw out old recycling and clutter because I already do these things. Basically the premise of this book is this: if you want your house to be clean, you have to clean it...

Somehow, I already knew that

First - I am her audience. I love books about organizing and decluttering. I love systems. I love how beautifully they work for the 2-3 weeks I keep it together - then I skip a day and then another and then...As a messy person she hit on some truths for me. I need to know what must be done everyday and I have a low threshold for the amount of stuff I can keep organized - much lower than most people. Hope this works! #habits #newyear

This was a great book! The author doesn‘t give any quick fixes or overly ambitious plans. She‘s relatable (especially to those of us who are not naturally organized) and funny.

[DELETED] 3803335244 I lose my mind quite often, lol! Maybe I need this book. 😳🙃 7y
CoffeeK8 @ForeverNerdy LOL me too! 7y

Saw this on my library run yesterday. This was one of the first books I read in July and one of my (unexpected) favorites for the month. I'm definitely going! #mysapl

monkeygirlsmama Never heard of her, but sounds like a fun time! 7y
MatchlessMarie @monkeygirlsmama This is definitely not the kind of book I would typically be drawn to. I picked it up when I heard recommendations from an acquaintance. I really like her approach and attitude throughout the whole thing. She is transparent, genuine, and funny, and practical. 👍 7y

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I listened to the audio, which I really enjoyed, but I realize it would be more practical to get a hard copy for reference. If you rolled your eyes and mentally extended your middle finger when you read about the KonMarie method in "The Life Changing Magic", this book is for you. This is a guide that keeps it real for the rest of us.

Listened to this on Audiobook which was perhaps not the best format, but I am giving it 4 stars. Narration was terrific but would probably want to reference lists and such later on, which would be better in a physical copy. Great suffesfuon for managing the house though!

My #MarchTBR - the #audiobook edition. I also will finish The Conspiracy of Us on audio, but I only have about 75 min left, so it feels like cheating to list it. #marchintoreading
