On Pilgrimage
On Pilgrimage | Dorothy Day
4 posts | 2 read
"When Dorothy Day sat down to record her thoughts in diary form, she wrote not only as the leader of the Catholic Worker movement but also as a mother, a grandmother, and a deeply religious woman who was passionate about everything from baking bread to prayer. But whether describing day-to-day happenings or exploring the writings of the saints, Day's reflections return to her abiding theme - the call to personal and public transformation. Her diary entries touch on numerous social and moral concerns still vital in our day: the disenfranchised poor, the benefits of meaningful work, the significance of family, the dangers of secularization, the decline of moral standards, and the importance of faith."--BOOK JACKET.

A quiet corner in a cafe, coffee, and a good book...or a bag full of them...📚

It‘s a fuzzy blanket, coffee, and stack of books kind of day. My favorite kind of day, of course.

Four years ago I moved and had to store boxes of books and other possessions in a warehouse. Today I was able to grab three random unmarked boxes and bring them to my apartment. I'm delighted to find the boxes were full of books that I need right now in my life. I have a wide-ranging interest in spiritual teachings and the 50 books I just retrieved will help comfort and inspire me.

DebinHawaii I like that! It's like you got to open presents today and found some treasures. 📚🎁 8y
Suet624 @DebinHawaii That's exactly how I felt. I might have even cried a little bit from the joy of it. 8y
DebinHawaii @Suet624 I would have done the same. 💜 8y
