The Burial Hour | 
pickFitz has been a journalist for a very long time, when news was facts and not opinions. He pounds the pavement day after day, checking his facts multiple times and always makes the 7pm deadline for the printed paper. Pounding the digital pavement and posting about cats in pj's as news has no appeal to Fitz.
This is probably the best 93 page short story I've ever read. It has everything and is paced perfectly.
so-soPicking though the Lincoln Rhyme series that I haven‘t already read. The last 4 or 5 in this series are meh. This was book number 13. Bit disappointed really that book number 13 was underwhelming. Creepy bad guy that leaves a noose made of cello strings as a calling card.
panWriting was well done, the characters were interesting. It was the plot that let me down. I don't want to spoil the book, but it left me feeling like an elementary school plot where at the end they wake up and it was all a dream. Had my eyes rolling around to the back of my head a few times in the last few chapters.
Likely won't return to this author.

Picked this up while out and about. Slightly dismayed that I am reading a book thirteen in with this character, but it gives me a reason to read twelve more books if I like this one!
so-soMy least favorite in this series. I like lots of Rhyme and Sachs, and I got too much Italian police. I just ordered the newest one. Hope it‘s back to NYC. Oh, and Tink says Hi!

pickLincoln Rhyme is one of my favorite serial characters and he didn't disappoint in The Burial Hour! I love the plot twists and that the novel is set in Italy. #SecondBookof2018
pickThat moment I realised the book club pick was a lincoln rhyme thriller.... I had only watched the bone collector years ago and never realised it was based on a book, and that there were others!! A bit excited to get into the other ones!
pickA decent read. I love JD but this has been my least favourite Lincoln Rhyme novel. Good twist but not enough action or gore. ❤️📚

panNot a fan of the words of Jeffrey Deaver. It's my next Book Club book though so I have to read it.
so-soThis reminded me why I don't read this series . I've read some of his stand alone books which I have enjoyed .
pickSachs and Rhyme travel to Italy ??. Are they chasing a serial killer, a psychopath, terrorists, or a rapist? They don't really know. But in the end, they connect all the trace evidence and with the help of a sweet inexperienced "forest officer" they solve the case. Love Lincoln Rhyme novels and this one didn't disappoint!!!
Just heard Jeffery Deaver is not coming to Scotland so won't be getting this signed. 😞 . So I am reading it now and will leave it behind . Easy reading. Won't get to local library until Tuesday as its a bank holiday here on Monday. So will have to make what I have with me last until then. Jet lag gives me tons of time for reading. Snuggled up in bed. 😍📚
Just back from Big W. We are taking the Jeffrey Deaver with us to Scotland. He will be there and we will get it signed. We saw him in Dundee many years ago before he had written so many books. We found him to be a very gentle man with the most beautiful hands. Looking forward to seeing him again. Imagine this time there will be many more people . I'm not a big Jo Nesbo fan but was persuaded by a Big W lady that it was a good read. 😊 We shall see.
This will be released in April in the U.S. I love this series, and can't wait to read it
