This took so long to get where it was going
An uneasy look into how far a person will go when they‘ve been wronged. An different take on familial relationships; how they flourish and how they fail. Reminiscent to The Perfect Girlfriend.

I‘m finding this book to be a little stressful. The “girlfriend” is already being so manipulative to this poor mom and I am not even half done. 😰 No complaints about the writing. It‘s almost TOO good!
Update: We‘re back at the gate in the very closed terminal, waiting for at least 2 hours until a light for the plane arrives from Orlando (we‘re at the Tampa airport). Oh joy.
Bought this at the airport, as a little reward. I don‘t really enjoy the flight experience. (I‘m keeping my #JolabokaflodSwap book for tomorrow — thanks again @Lidia !) — we‘re aboard a super full, small jet with people with LOTS of packages, a flier with a fully-grown Dalmatian as a comfort animal, and for some odd reason, lots of people traveling in pajama pants. (By the way, some people are amazed their huge bags don‘t fit) 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😳😕
Over bearing mother who is one step away from Norma Bates level of being in love with her son can‘t stand the fact that her son has met someone and is falling in love with her. I am so sick of this trope.
I listened to this on audiobook whilst going on dog walks and it was a fun easy listen. It‘s about the tension between a rich woman and her sons new girlfriend. It‘s a bit melodramatic at times but I did enjoy it! Nothing mind blowing but a good listen. 😊
When Daniel meets Cherry, he is pretty attracted to her immediately so much so that he asks her out the sane day they meet, not long into their courtship Daniel takes Cherry to meet the parents and mom is not too thrilled with Cherry, but she does want to like her because after all, she is her beloved sons girlfriend. 🙄
DNF — at least so far. I put it aside a few months ago, a little more than a tenth of it read, and never resumed reading. It all seems a bit pointless: two women, the mother and girlfriend of a male character, don‘t like each other. Earth shattering. If I ever do get back to it, I‘ll have to start from the beginning because I won‘t remember much.
The Girlfriend was ok. It was an easy listen and I did want to keep going till the end. The story was a bit weak and I felt like the ending was an anticlimax. But it did have some good bits along the way.
Another quiet day at work means an opportunity to start a new audiobook. I‘m not expecting great things from The Girlfriend but I‘m hoping it will be a fun listen
The first half was good but it started dragging in the second half, ultimately ending with a predictable and disappointing thud. Pun intended.
I have seen this book posted by several Littens and just found this deal on Bookbub.com! It has mixed reviews but $2.99 is a pretty good price.

Loved this book! I could not put it down! If you liked “Gone Girl” or “Girl n the Train” then this book is for you. Full review on the blog - http://www.michellescottfiction.com/coffeeshopreviews/review-the-girlfriend-by-m...
My cozy, winter evening is all laid out. Knitting, a Lifetime movie, a great book, and my favorite Starbucks iced tea: strawberry. Strawberry 🍓 ☕️
I was afraid to try this, but it wasn‘t too bad. Try it yourself: https://m.staples.com/sbd/cre/marketing/technology-research-centers/ereaders/spe...
Honestly? Don‘t waste your time. The characters are one-dimensional, the “suspense” isn‘t suspenseful because you know EXACTLY what‘s going down, and the writing isn‘t smooth at all. I‘m disappointed, because it sounded like it would be SO good, but...it wasn‘t. #thegirlfriend #michellefrances
Honestly, I‘m not loving this. There‘s something about the writing that‘s really annoying me, and the characters are just...I don‘t know, they‘re blazingly stereotypical and pretty ridiculous. But I‘m about halfway through, so I might as well finish it. #thegirlfriend #michellefrances
Another “oooh, I think I want to read this one!” pick from the pile of new arrivals I covered last week, I‘m planning on cracking this open (except not literally, because I don‘t have it in me to break books‘ spines!) in a nice hot bubble bath. #thegirlfriend #michellefrances
Oh my! My head is still spinning after finishing this & I've reread the ending twice!
What would you do if your son is suddenly in love with a girl that you just don't trust? And things go from bad to worse & no one believes you? I had to put this down as I was reading because Cherry, the girlfriend, was getting under my skin & I wanted to help Laura, the mom.
Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher for providing an ARC for my honest review.
Another book that's already out in the UK but not here in the US that I picked up from Book Depository. I'm just about to start it. A rare snow day here in Georgia 😉
This was a wonderful surprise to find in my mailbox this week! Thank you to Kensington Books!
Book 4 📚 heard so many things about this book and how good it is so thought I'd give it a try. Loved this book and read it within a day couldn't stop reading it loved the plot the character of the mum 👏🏼
I haven't heard anything positive about any of these books, unfortunately. However they all seem to somehow fit the #girlfriends #anditisaugust
I'm ashamed to say I completely related to the mother. Let's hope H's future partner's a little less abrasive.
Truly can't wait to sink my teeth into this great read!! #bookstagram #meetthegirlfriend
I have just finished this book on audio and it surprised me. I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did. Worth a read if you like Physiological thrillers
It's been a bit of a rough few weeks, but I'm so excited to settle in for the night with a little wine and #MeetTheGirlfriend! I've actually already read this (#BookExpo prep) but now I have a little time on my hands and I'm ready to read it again and pick out the clues I missed the first time. Does anyone else reread thrillers like that? Just me? 😅
More #BookExpo / #BookCon swag ❤️😍❤️ came with rose soap and a chocolate rose, so in love with this packaging, and I cannot wait to read this thriller! #meetthegirlfriend
Taking a break from YA fiction to binge on psychological thrillers...my kindle needed some attention anyway! This one looks really interesting: romance, lies, family and repercussions! Thanks
A great thriller that had my loyalty continually changing between the main characters? I can see this working very well as a TV series or film. Definitely recommend if you enjoy psychological thrillers. Thanks so much to NetGalley and Pan Macmillan for my digital copy.
*Provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review *A fast paced psychological thriller. I couldn't put this one down. I hated both the lead female characters. Frustrating in parts as, for these 2 women to be intelligent, I was annoyed at how stupid they were at times. The abrupt switch in the characters POV was confusing at times, The ending felt a bit rushed and the reason the book only gets 3*s.
Forgot I'd promise to read this #netgalley for the 7th. Ok so far
