MaGoose I think Boxing Day originated in the UK as a day off for the servants, who received presents (or "boxes" in UK slang, I think. My father came from Scotland, but I'm in the US, so I'm not entirely sure of the slang). 6y

Blueroseis Carol Hedges, the author of several Victorian detective novels tweeted this morning that for her boxing day is when cats sleep in their new boxes. The ones left over from Christmas day. She also added a photo of her cat, aka the foreign secretary in one of her boxes. 6y
