pickI really liked Catt‘s writing style, so I hope she publishes more novels. For the characters in this novel, the consequences of actions are a roll of the dice, or in this case, at the whim of the gods. Blaming themselves is of no use.
On a side note, we‘re having to unexpectedly end our vacation early for a family obligation. That means we‘re on the interstate. Blech. 😖
A toasty 96 F at my dad‘s in Sturgis, SD, but I don‘t want to sit in air conditioning. The dog would rather sit out too and find excuses to bark at things. I‘m waiting for happy hour to begin with something icy. 🍹
This novel unexpectedly sucked me in quickly! There is just a bit of an unconventional family mystery that is intriguing.
pickJust finished listening to this one and IT IS SO GOOD. Tragedy and poor decisions are a theme in Elena‘s life and bring her home to small town Colorado. Through connections she makes with the residents there, the children for whom she cares, and spending time with her grandmother, Elena learns about the redemptive power of forgiveness...especially when it comes to forgiving herself. Poetic and witty with strong female characters. 4⭐️ #audiobooks

pickI really enjoyed this debut novel-set in 1978 In a Colorado Mountain town. About forgiveness & redemption for oneself & for others. Beautiful descriptive writing that brings the setting to life & well-drawn, flawed but likable characters, it touched my heart & I was sorry to see it end.
