so-soIt took me a lot to get into this one. But I did actually complete it. I know a lot of people love this series but for the first half of the book I have to say Elena really grated on me with her entitled attitude. But I think I will read the second. Hopefully it will be better than the first.
Todays waiting place is the library near my sons TAFE. The early mornings are killing me but he is enjoying it. And this is the most reading I have got done in a while.
My son is trailing TAFE today so I‘m staying in the area. Having coffee at Primrose Lane at Christie‘s beach.
Last night, I watched 4 episodes of season 3 of The Vampire Diaries. Love that show so much! #TeamDamon

pickI‘ve been listening to the vampire diaries series on audio for the first time. I‘ve read these books so many times I‘ve lost count! This is one of the series where it‘s so different than the tv show that I can enjoy both separately.
The narrator does a pretty good job and I‘m thoroughly enjoying them! Such comfort reads!

This was an okay book. I felt it could be more fleshed out and I didn't care much for the voice actor. I feel this is one case where the TV show is much better than the book.
so-soI have seen so many people talk about this book, but I was not a fan. Underdeveloped plot and a very quick storyline. It is not terrible, but I feel eh about it.
Until very recently, I was a total Vampire Diaries virgin. I didn‘t even know there was a book series that inspired the show on The CW — let alone that the first title was published all the way back in 1991. About to start listening to this tonight. It will be the first book I have bothered to pick up in many weeks (listening counts right). From the virus we had that wiped me out then issues with workers and finding new ones the last thing I have felt like is reading. Today I have the urge. Everyone cross their fingers.

I can‘t recall if in book one Elena‘s doppelgänger appears, but in this series (yes, the TV show is based off these books) at some point her doppelgänger plays a role in the story.
I can still remember the autumn I read this book outside with crows cawing; it added to the atmosphere of the novel!

I decided to reread this series and unfortunately I‘m not the biggest fan. Normally I don‘t say this and this is probably the only time you‘ll hear me but the series is waaaay better than the books. There‘s something about the writing that just isn‘t that appealing.
Would I continue reading the series? Yes but only because I want to get ahead in the next few books.

I was a fan of the Vampire Diaries show for the first couple seasons especially. There were parts I hated in the show but it seemed like a easy light read so I picked up the first book.
I‘m honestly shook with how conceited, self-centered, and manipulative Elena is in the books, far more than in the show. I‘m not disliking the experience of reading the book but damn. If we‘re supposed to relate to Elena in anyway it‘s a miss.

The first book in the Vampire Diaries series was published the year I was born (1991). It's crazy to see how much covers evolve over a 25 year period. It's also crazy that after twenty years on the market, that's when it was picked up for a show.
