Fun all-ages comic that lost a star for ableist language.
Fun all-ages comic that lost a star for ableist language.
This comic was so much fun and I had a blast reading it. Recommended for fans of Squirrel Girl and Howard the Duck.
Image is a background character in issue 6. Very clearly Homer Simpson from when he gains weight to get on disability, complete with 5 o'clock shadow, muumuu, cape, and fat guy hat. It threw me off and delighted me in the best way.
Looking forward to volume two.
The best way to describe this book is cute and witty.
Before picking this up, I'd never even heard of Hellcat. Her history sounds absolutely bonkers 😂 but, this volume was pretty cute and funny! Interested to see where this is going. Also, the art in issue six is just freaking adorable!
I really enjoyed this book! It was so much fun and a great story
I loved everything about this book and I would like to steal this outfit from She-Hulk.
3-4⭐ • Not my absolute favorite but still good nevertheless. I have been in a Graphic Novel Kick this week- my coworker, the Teen Librarian, has been looking for more good GN to expand her collection in the teen library. I have taken it upon myself to give her a few reviews with the GN e books I got from Prime Reading. Hopefully she will take my recommendations! • ALSO I think I'm gonna need to expand my reading goals at this rate 🤓📚🙌🏻
Patsy and Ian, speaking for all of us.
I was not that impressed. I appreciate that they are trying to make a more girl power/squad book but I just feel like they kind of miffed on it. There is a lack of depth I find irritating. I would say it's better for a younger audience.
Today's #RiotGrams A character with my name: Patricia (Patsy) Walker aka HELLCAT
I'm going to be up front: This wasn't entirely for me. Kate Leth is funny and she's created a charmingly manic book with the help of artists Brittney L. Williams and Natasha Allegri, but the quirky, incident-light style just wasn't quite my bag. Leth breezes by any semblance of drama and tension on the way to the next joke, but I'm not entirely on her comic wavelength. Those who are will LOVE this, and it's still fun, it just wasn't my style.
A little hotel balcony reading - Patsy Walker AKA Hellcat, volume 1. I LOVED it! Cool characters, good concept, fun art. Highly recommended. (If you can read it at sunset near a beach, I also recommend that!) #patsywalker
Started this while waiting for the flight home.
pure enjoyment! strong & smart female heroine, vibrant art, fun supporting cast, not crazy violent, big-name cameos, and...cat puns! what's not to love?
So this is a pick but I did um and ah over that decision, it's not as good as squirrel girl or ms marvel being the main reasons. The tone is slightly odd for the character but good points are...strong female friendships, interesting side characters who are diverse and a female team for this comic. It's done enough to keep me reading for now #readwomen #weneeddiversebooks #kickassheroines
another fun & entertaining comic, will definitely be picking up the next volume when it comes out 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Number one rule of comics: nobody ever stays dead.
I am sooooo far behind on reading my pull list, it's embarrassing. Today I'm having comics for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Let's see how many of these piles can get through. Hellcat's up first.
Super great! Very Squirrel Girl-ish - funny, with competent and interesting female characters. You definitely don't need to know about the thee goings ons in the Marvel universe to enjoy this.
This comic is adorable 💛💛💛 So fun and cute, not violent or gory/dark like several comics can be (this is a good one for kids!). I didn't know anything about Hellcat beforehand but I'm super interested in this character now! Features lots of other lady superheroes, especially her bff She-Hulk. A really light-hearted comic that's good to read in between heavy reading subjects ✨
This was fun! I had no idea who Hellcat was prior to picking this up but that definitely didn't matter. Lots of helpful pop ups and, hey, she's trying to turn her life around. More please!
Hellcat: subject of comics about her teen years, investigator for She-Hulk, can sense mystical energy. Almost as cloyingly sweet as Squirrel Girl, but still palatable - she's supposedly going through her midlife crisis, but she acts like a teenager. Without spoilers, I do enjoy her new purpose and can't wait to read the next volume! (This is a variant cover: actual quality of the art varies widely thru the whole volume.)
This series is hilarious. A definite pick, especially if you're a fan of Squirrel Girl. (Side note: I love that if you look closely at this variant cover, you can see that Jen and Patsy are karaoke-ing "Since U Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson.)
Happy #HarryPotterAndTheCursedChild release night! Turns out even Hellcat is a fan! #harrypotter #cursedchild
I have an enormous #TBR pile, but somehow my latest Marvel trades always sneak their way to the top...
Whew...finished this one at 11:59pm on the dot. Patsy Walker, A.K.A. Hellcat just wants to start a temp agency for inhumans who want regular jobs. But she got laid off from her job working for best friend She-Hulk and her frenemy re-published the comic books Patsy's mom wrote about her daughter's embarrassing youth. I'm glad I finished the #24in48 #readathon with this. It was really a lot of fun. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So far, this is turning out to be a lot of fun. #24in48 #readathon
I'm obviously not going to get to finish The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie in time like I originally planned, so my next pick for the #24in48 #readathon is a graphic novel I have been meaning to read. it looks like just the palate cleanser one would need after my last pick.
A day late as usual but here's my fab fun frisky Friday post. My favorite 🇨🇦Canadian🇨🇦 authors are best known as comics writers. Meet Kate Leth & Ryan North!
She-Hulk really knows how to live.
Supervillain resume building 😂😂😂
I knew I was going to like this, of course, but I didn't realise just how much! (Hint: more than Squirrel Girl; is that even possible?) Anyway, I'm just halfway through and I think I need to subscribe to this series on Comixology already.

Hellcat is more adorable than most internet kitten videos.
This has been another fab edition of Truth Bombs with Hellcat. 🗯💣w/ 🔥🐱
