I haven‘t posted on Litsy in ages but trying desperately to hit my Goodreads goal of 75 books before the end of the year! I‘m only like...17 books behind now!

This book is fantastic, beautiful, and heartbreaking. This is a piece of history I knew nothing about and it's a story that has so much going on it it - women's history, science, corporate greed, inspiring court battles. And Kate Moore's writing brings these girls to life. Highly recommend.
I've recently gotten into a Downton Abbey podcast which in turn has gotten me into doing some reading about Edwardian England. This book gets into the nitty gritty about what it was like to be in service and some of the rigid social customs of the time period. The writing isn't very engaging. It's pretty dry. But informative if, like me, you wanted to know the difference between a scullery maid and a parlour maid and things like that.
Guess who's reading a depressing (but really good book) about radium poisoning (spoilers - it's me) (also I'm only like 1/4 of the way so maybe it'll get super happy!)
Just finished this book and have a feeling I'm going to become obsessed with this series.
Trying to get some more Wonder Woman reading in before seeing the movie!
I saw a video online recently of adorable rat tricks and it made me miss my rats . A couple of years ago I had 2 pet rats, Marlowe and Boas (named after Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe and anthropologist Franz Boas, respectively). They were wonderful little critters. I actually got this book from my mom as a Christmas present but sadly never used it to teach them tricks! Rats make great pets but sadly their lives are too short ☹️
I google image searched "Victorian finishing school" hoping to get an appropriate picture to go along with this book and this was the best thing I found. Though it has nothing to do with the book. But this was an often fun, sometimes scary, sometimes touching romp involving a group of finishing school girls and a brush with the magical/paranormal.
Best chapter title ever.
Finally got un-lazy enough to charge and sync my kindle, so now can read books on that instead of my phone!
Trying to catch up to all the freaking audiobooks I have checked out from the library!
Returning back to "Soul of an Octopus"...now with picture inserts of the ? I've been reading about! #tbrreadathon
I knew very little about Wonder Woman and her origin story before starting this book. It was a great, exciting adventure with gorgeous art and introduced me to some of my favorite new side character (I ❤Etta Candy). Also baby Alfred Pennyworth is in it! #tbrreadathon
I wish I had victory rolls like Etta Candy. #tbrreadathon
Reading short stories aloud to @BestOfFates on our walk! #tbrreadathon
My first finished book of the #tbrreadathon! It was magical and strange and sweet and funny and I loved it and want more immediately.
Taking a break from octopus related reading for some graphic novels! #tbrreadathon
Clearly I need to find and go to the Octopus 🐙 Symposium. #tbrreadathon
Damnit, I want an octopus friend. And shake hands (x8). #tbrreadathon 🐙
Starting the #tbrreadathon - a non-fiction pick is probably overly ambitious to start but I've been meaning to read this for ages!
Every time I see a movie in Roger Elbert's book, I mark it off. 30 down, 70 more to go!
I've just discovered that the movie 'Carol' was filmed in and around Cincinnati. So next time I visit my grandparents, I can make them take me to the restaurant where Carol and Therese ate creamed spinach and poached eggs.
I feel bad bailing on this one, especially since it's an interesting topic, but for some reason could not get into it. I've never read an Oliver Sacks book but always enjoyed his stories on Radiolab. I did this as an audiobook though and could be a case of just having a not-great reader. Maybe I'll try this again later as a book-book.
Reading my first Wonder Woman book!
I saw Sarah Glidden do a panel on comics journalism with Joe Sacco at Small Press Expo and kept meaning to read this book and so glad I finally did.
I haven't read an Oliver Sacks book before, so thought I'd give this one a spin!
Musical memoir time!
This book was sweet and wonderful but my favorite part might've been the illustrations.
I'm really digging this book and also terrified it'll break my frickin' heart.
Excited to get into my Free Comic Book Day reads!
I bought way too many things at Free Comic Book Day, but this book about Zora Neale Hurston might be what I'm most excited about
Still not sure what is going on in this book, but I do like the holographic cover.
This book is adorable so far, though I assume will get sad in a TFIOS kinda way?
Excited to see Gabourey Sidibe!
Because I've started watching "The Crown", I've gotten sucked into learning about Queen Elizabeth II.
You know what else is super charming? Another Castle. ADORABLE.
Does this count for the #24in48 challenge. Because if so I'm at 1!
Didn't like it quite as much as Rebel Belle but this series is super charming and a heck of a lot of fun.
I feel bad, because this is the second book I've bailed on in a week. I liked playing the Oregon Trail game as a kid. And was intrigued by the premise of this guy trying to make that huge, arduous trek. But I just could not get into it. I feel like there was an hour spent talking about just wheels.
