Celebrity memoirs are not really my thing, so I was unsure going into this. It was so funny!! I definitely preferred the chapters about her childhood and family life over the chapters about working in film, but I really enjoyed it overall. @cwarnier I will get it in the mail to you as soon as the kids are out of quarantine and I'm free to go anywhere besides work and home! @kellyann28 @TheBookKeepers #lmpbc
We just got a call that one of the children my kids attend daycare with tested positive for covid this morning... We havent heard anything from our DOH yet but they will probably end up quarantined.
I'm feeling a *little* stressed, so I'm trying to relax with "Tension Tamer" tea and a funny book. I'll probably finish this over the weekend, but will wait til we have the all clear before sending it back

This book has been on my TBR list for a while now. I was super excited to read it, but it ended up disappointing me a bit. I was expecting a bit more of a “wow“ factor and at some points had a hard time reading due to jumping around in time order of events.
Overall I am glad I took the time to read it.

So I know I still have half a day, but I am not in a reading mood. I am calling this, and going to go make cards.
I finished the two graphic novels I was in the middle of before this started.
I kept up with #Sundaybuddyread.
I am about half way thought This is Just My Face.
And I know it's not on the goals list, but I read Dear Martin (It was due back at the library).
#JubliantJuly
SO here is my update. I got in 28 summers from the library so I am changing my goals.
I will read On the Come UP, but after 28 summers.
Finished: A Fire Story & Something New
In Progress: The Two Lives of Lydia Bird
Up Next: This is Just my Face
Right before quarantine started, I checked out this book from the library. I love Gabbys twitter so we about to check this out.
Absolutely loved this! Gabourey Sidibe has such a wonderful voice as a writer; I could hear her in my brain as I read this. She does a great job both dispelling any stereotypes people might have about her after assuming she and Precious character are one and the same while talking honestly about the difficulties she's faced in her life. There's a healthy dose of Twitter mockery as well. A great memoir, and I'd love to read more from her!
DAY 22 #Hollywood | Here are a few movie star memoirs I‘ve enjoyed in the last couple of years. I‘m not one to idolize famous people, but their lives are fascinating. They‘re human like us, but so exposed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I read the novel Push by Sapphire several years back, but wasn‘t able to finish the film “Precious” because reliving that gut-wrenching story was too much. What I did experience of Sidibe‘s performance was incredible. It turns out, she‘s a brilliant storyteller and talented writer, too. In this honest and funny memoir, she lays bare her unique family history, career, body image, etc. Fantastic on audio!
I love this box. Thank you so much. I cant wait to read all 4 of these books!

Didn‘t make my Goodreads goal last year, but new baby made for far fewer reading opportunities.
Here‘s to reaching my 100 book goal for 2019!
#tarottakeover Day 6: The Chariot, a card of victory, focusing intent and will, establishing identity, and confidence. Tough as many books might be spoiled if I chose them. I offer This is Just My Face as Gabourey is definitely one of confidence but she is not afraid to show her vulnerabilities and feelings, which makes this book all the more a victory. She has a strong and playful identity and continues to do well. Fun and meaningful read.
