Larkin Mills: The Birthplace of Death! Larkin Mills is no ordinary town. It's a place of contradictions and enigma, of secrets and mysteries. A place with an exquisite ice cream parlour, and an awful lot of death. An extraordinary mystery in Larkin Mills is beginning to take shape. First we meet the apparently healthy Albert Dance, although he's always been called a sickly child, and he's been booked into Larkin Mills' Hospital for Specially Ill Children. Then there's his neighbour Ivor, who observes strange goings-on, and begins his own investigations into why his uncle disappeared all those years ago. Next we meet Young Olive, who is given a battered accordion by her father, and unwittingly strikes a dreadful deal with an instrument repair man. Make sure you keep an eye on Mr Morricone, the town ice-cream seller, who has queues snaking around the block for his legendary ice cream flavours Summer Fruits Suicide and The Christmas Massacre. And Mr Milkwell, the undertaker, who has some very dodgy secrets locked up in his hearse. Because if you can piece together what all these strange folks have to do with one another . . . well, you'll have begun to unlock the dark secrets that keep the little world of Larkin Mills spinning . . .

1. Neither
2. Neither - I‘m more of an ice cream girl
3. Both or either I like holding paperbacks when I read
4. Both! I like both spicy and sweet

ElizaMarie So yeah I wish I can have Ice Cream. As I got older my ability to tolerate Ice Cream directly when to the pits! I am good with Sherbert (which I enjoy the orange ones) But yeah I agree with you. Paperback is just “easier“ I noticed my books I have in Hardback, take me so longer to read. I can't take them with me. I cant comfortably read them while laying in bed. Its just difficult at times. 4y
MoonWitch94 I love ice cream 🍨 & that‘s the only way I will eat pie 😂 Thanks for playing 🎂✨☺️ 4y
jb72 @ElizaMarie I have a love/hate agreement with ice cream. I love ice cream and it will hate on me (and my tummy). Hardbacks look pretty, but they can be heavy and difficult to move through. 4y

jb72 @MoonWitch94 thanks for hosting! 4y
ElizaMarie @jb72 So my husband has the same issue with ice cream but he is all of the pain and discomfort that comes from it. So he gets ice cream, I take a spoonful and then I am okay while he is suffering and I gently laugh at him! It works well for us! I do sometimes get vegan ice cream which is good (if you can find it -- I have a hard time finding it) 4y
jb72 @ElizaMarie Yep. Totally me. I buy it. Eat it. And suffer through it. 4y

Pickpick

The town of Larkin Mills is decidedly weird- could all the stories the adults tell about the past be true- what is the Egg of Death and why does Morricone‘s ice cream taste so good? A middle grade thriller/series of interlinked stories. Such fun! @Clwojick Points for thriller please! #TeamSlaughter #scarathon also points for #blackcover for the #scaryScavengerHunt!

Clwojick Oh, this looks amazing. 5y
Booksnchill It was a bit like A Series of Unfortunate Events 5y

Pickpick

Wonderfully weird collection of dark tales that gradually interweaves. Full of dark humour and creepy characters. Highly imaginative and, even though the subject of death permeates every page, it‘s huge fun too!

BookishBelle Ooh! Ice cream! Good thing it's downstairs! (Bc I'm too lazy to go get it and my pets don't have opposable thumbs 🤷🏻‍♀️) 7y
SheReadsAndWrites Oh man. It's been over 100 degrees here. Ice cream sounds perfect. 😋 7y
