I made this "doll" on field trip this week and thought it made the perfect addition to my Stephen King shelf ??

My Dad always told me this was the Stephen King story that scared him the most. So I was almost disappointed when the beginning started out slow-ish. Then the actual Children of the Corn entered the story and I was completely creeped out. Evil children and extreme religions can be terrifying and both are in this story!! I imagine the movie would scare me to pieces.
I‘m almost finished with Night Shift! #readingStephenKing
Day 23: The Wicker Man

@Klou
In this short story, an unhappy couple was going to California for a vacation when driving through some rural place, they came across a town which seems like a #ghosttown , deserted and where many things about the town are out of date, such as gas prices and calendars, which have not been updated since 1964! Have you read it? Or seen the movie or tv series?

This gave me a laugh!! 🤣🤣

I hadn‘t seen Children of the Corn in AGES, I barely remembered it (well, aside from the creepy kids), and while I‘ve seen all the original Elm Street movies multiple times, especially the first couple, I thought why not give the 2010 version a go.
It‘s just the same without the original cast though!
Some great effects and cinematic work in it - if you can appreciate it for that stuff 🔪

@Clwojick
Okay, so this came out in 1984 when I was in high school and I thought it was so creepy. It‘s totally stupid, amIright? #scarathlon #teamslaughter @Clwojick
Watched this tonight for my points!
DS9 5.5 #TheAssignment Because we need to beat on O'Brien a little more. And Keiko too in this case. Man, these too have a marriage made of steel! Pah-Wraith shenanigans and Rom being Rom. I love Rom. I liked the episode, but threats made to children is a trigger, so I fastforward that part.
Tagging one of the ur-bodysnatching stories out there. #startreksummerjune
Nothing book related, but I thought I‘d share this with @BarbaraTheBibliophage and @Gezemice we were teasing each other about how far out we live.
The is the actual picture out my front door, corn fields! 😂 Although this road is very busy at times, we‘ve actually talked about moving somewhere quieter. 🤪
Drove through these cornfields by myself for the first time while heading back to my in-laws last night. I got to right to the middle and of course, this short story hopped into my head. I damn near froze. 😳 I‘ve read the story and the movie. The story was fucking terrifying and if you remember how it started you‘ll know exactly why I wanted to freak out!
C is for Children of the Corn
I know this is kind of an obvious choice, but it was one of the first things I thought of for the letter C. This was the first horror movie I remember seeing, and it scared the living daylights out of me and my friends. We would creep each other out anytime we would walk outside at night. I think it‘s time for a rewatch (and maybe an actual read of the story). #KingAtoZ
C is for Children of the Corn
Found the movie poster of the original movie for Children of the Corn from 1984. I read the book and saw the movie and I remember being scared to death.

Only a short story by Stephen King but it fits #emojinov perfectly. #🌽 #corn I'd not heard of this one but got a 3.87 rating on Goodreads and can be found in Nightshift.
Technically a short story originally published in Penthouse, this is the Stephen King story that still makes me uneasy. I also found a French movie poster for the movie calling the story Horror Kid!?! #scaredyou #stephenking17
#AllHallowsRead My first scary read was likely Stephen King. This short story scared my pants off! 👻👖
King can have as much horror in his #shortstories as in his 800+ page books. #booktober #scaretober
