"Smart, sexy, and oh-so romantic." ---Mary Balogh, New York Times bestselling author THEY CALL HIM THE DUKE OF MURDER... The gossips whisper that the new Duke of Murdoch is a brute, a murderer, and even worse--a Scot. They say he should never be trusted alone with a woman. But Megan Windham sees in Hamish something different, someone different. No one was fiercer at war than Hamish MacHugh, though now the soldier faces a whole new battlefield: a London Season. To make his sisters happy, he'll take on any challenge--even letting their friend Miss Windham teach him to waltz. Megan isn't the least bit intimidated by his dark reputation, but Hamish senses that she's fighting battles of her own. For her, he'll become the warrior once more, and for her, he might just lose his heart.

Current events have made reading awful difficult, but Grace Burrowes' Windham Brides series has manged to break my reading slumps via audio.

So I picked this up on a whim and unwittingly got thrown into a continuation of a series. There are so many characters! Much more than a typical romance and it‘s a bit of a bother keeping everyone straight. The family tree provided is barely readable on my kindle. And I‘ve been sick. All of that to say, it‘s not been a very productive reading weekend for me.

I liked the banter but there was a lot of tedium between the banter. I like the characters but there seemed to be a lot of repetitive dialog and plotting filler. This is the first book I‘ve read by this author and this is apparently a spin off of another series so I may have enjoyed it more if I‘d read the previous series. #periodromance

Checked this out because I needed to test one of our apps at work. I enjoyed it though.

This was a fun, historical romance, light and romantic. While I enjoyed reading it, my one complaint is that the romance and he writing seemed overdone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Enjoyed Megan and Hamish's story but if you have not read the Windham books before you will be lost as there is quite a cast of characters. Always great writing with humor and heartache is abundance.

3🌟/5 This met and set my expectations for a Regency romance.
Gruff, veteran Scotsman with a heart of gold needs to improve his manners to survive the London season. Visually impaired, redheaded society lady needs a friend to help her out of a past that is threatening her.
The plot moved along well, the chemistry was good, but the supporting characters lacked for me.
2🔥 /5 for steaminess. #romantsy
