Oh my. This book had been lingering on my ereader and I started it late yesterday, stayed up late reading, and finished it off this morning. Have already snapped up the next in the series. Multi-shifter world, with a crap ton of politics, but really enjoyed the look at pushing through grief and trying to make responsible choices, and yanno, the sex scenes weren't bad either.

pickA wonderful addition to this urban fantasy #romantsy series. I loved the grumpy former monk turned warrior and the sunny singer! Cannot be read without reading the earlier books in the series.

so-soThis was a pretty good book, but I had a disconnect with the main characters. The story started off in the middle for them so, when they got together and were feeling guilty about the past, I didn't really care. I think it was a good (but slow) start for the series. I am looking forward to reading about the other characters now that I have a base to go off of. (FYI, this does have some sex scenes, so not kid friendly. Oh, and no Alpha male.)
pickTerrific world building, a wonderful romance and really strong heroine, makes for terrific #romantsy. 💕
so-soI did not fall in love with this book and I can‘t work out why. There‘s some good world-building, political shenanigans, consequences coming home to roost and romance. And still I feel a bit meh about it all. I might read the next in the series but it‘s not on my “must have” list...

This was a sexy, paranormal romance. Might even be considered erotica. But if you have never read Aguirre, I would recommend Perdition or Blue Diablo first.

pickThat's me! I was a beta reader for this so a slight bias lol but I really enjoyed the old school PNR feel - good world building, romance, characters. Nice start to a series and return to romance by Aguirre.
