Something to Talk About | Meryl Wilsner

1.Loved the chemistry between Jo and Emma
2.Loved the way Wilsner handled the boss/employee power imbalance
3.I just loved it!

Although I was ready to throw my kindle towards the end waiting for these two to admit their feelings for each other, I am just too impatient for slow burns, I enjoyed watching them fall in love. Read this is if you love workplace romances, slow burn romances, or awards shows!

Buckle your seatbelts & grab some tissues. The opening scene sets the stage & immediately sucked me in. The book is about two union spies who are in deep undercover in Richmond Virginia in the first year of the Civil War. Simply put, this book was high octane, sexy, heartfelt, and tackled some serious issues about reparations, forgiveness, and how can we move forward. Do yourself a favor and read this book!

This book just seemed like a good book to read during a pandemic.

I hadn't read the webcomics, and I got the audiobook so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. My favorite bits were actually the questions he didn't answer, but the ones he did were still pretty funny & explored the mechanics of everything that would go horribly wrong. My take-aways; any catastrophe is worse in the nude & never try these at home.

This book has it all!
Friends to lovers ✅
Forced Proximity ✅
Supportive squad ✅
Cute dog ✅

This sequel to The Right Swipe breathes new life into bodyguard romances! It is a fun sexy read with a ton of heart and loads of peaches. Rai also does a great job talking about mental health in this book, and handles it with tact and empathy.

A Cowboy to Remember | Rebekah Weatherspoon

With an appropriate number of dogs and tons of amazing cooking (seriously read this one with a snack, I was so hungry) this book is an excellent start to Weatherspoon's newest series. A celebrity chef loses her memory and has to go to the ranch and first love she purposefully left behind 10 years ago. A wonderful take on second chance romances with a cowboy spin. I cannot wait for Jesse's book!

Do you believe that the smallest actions can change the course of your life? Do we meet people by chance or fate? Daniel, a first-generation Korean-American, and Natasha, a Jamaican immigrant, wrestle with these ideas when their paths cross over one day in New York. The story is sweet & thought-provoking & the characters are based on the author‘s own multi-cultural marriage. If you liked Five Feet Apart, this one is for you! #OwnVoices

In this fantasy/dystopian adventure, Mare learns that she, a red blood, has the same special ability as the silver blooded elite. A cover up, the king presents her as a long-lost princess. Inside the silver court, Mare realizes that not everything is as it seems as a rebellion movement grows stronger. A great series opener with suspense, an unlikely friendship, and betrayal.

My Sister, the Serial Killer | Oyinkan Braithwaite

This novella was amazing! The closing line was phenomenal, and actually gave me goosebumps.

Equal parts satire, thriller, and character study, this novella explores the relationship between a beautiful flighty serial killer and the increasingly resentful protective older sister who is cleaning up after her. I cannot recommend this book enough!

Precocious young Flavia de Luce, amateur sleuth, rides her bike around Bishop's Lacey, a little village, in 1950s England. Her love of chemistry and a rather morbid imagination aid her in solving local murders. An excellent series for fans of period cozies and wicked British humor. Books in this series have won numerous prizes, including the Agatha Award.

“The Right Swipe” is a perfect blend of a strong female protagonist, character growth, and romance. Rhi never gives second chances but what happens when a one-night stand turns into your competitor‘s spokesperson, who you have to work with! If you can relate to being ghosted, check out this fun read!
